I can't say enough about how great Moe's is...having followed them from their inception in the Vail Valley from their food truck on Edward's corner to my friend Jen & Brians wedding and all of my meals in between....I had the crave for lunch today from being out of town and not living in Eagle anymore. Flew into Eagle this afternoon at noon and drove straight to Moes for a fish sandwich, sides and a beer before heading to Eddie. Friendly service. The same manager that was there as last time I was there who was just as friendly and professional. Always a great sign in this valley and owner working on premise too. I apologize for not taking a photo of my most perfectly prepared fish ever on a perfectly slathered roll. The sides I chose were Mac & Chz , green beans and collard greens...the beer iced cold in a frosty glass. I know the barbeque rocks too because I've eaten many sandwiches there too along w their...
Read moreSo I am a Southern BBQ lover. I stopped in today to try them, the smell alone was so good walking in. It just smelled like barbecue. I did ask this is Alabama style so you know there's a little bit of wet slight kick on these ribs. But there's smoke beautifully they taste great and they're straight up fall off the bone with every bite. I ordered but I didn't notice that they had greens so the young lady blessed me what a sample of greens. I bet it to those greens they're salted with just a light little vinegary to them as if my mom made him herself. The potato salad has just enough of all the goodies in it, to be bursting with flavor. Even the banana pudding was good. Well now I know where I'll be eating every time I'm in this area. I found my lunch. Oh and when you visit this place, Tuto is an amazing artist. All the artwork that you see is there and it's so beautiful.
Thank you guys so much for a...
Read moreOrder: BBQ pulled pork platter with BBQ baked beans, slaw, corn bread, mac & cheese, key lime pie
The good: The service was prompt and the staff friendly Baked beans were the perfect balance of sweet, smokey and porky Slaw, which is vinegar based, had a nice tang and provided a great balance to the rich beans and fatty pork Key lime pie was excellent and on the tart side which is something I appreciate as I find most key lime pies are too sweet
The not so good: Mac and cheese was bland and really, just pasta with cheese sprinkled over it. Definitely lacking in salt and cheese The pork, while moist, which probably had to do with the vinegar sauce placed on it, lacked in seasoning and, more importantly, smoke. I really don't think that if you blindfolded someone and had them smell the pork, that they could tell it came from a smoker
Overall, the sides were really the stars...
