Update 7/30/24: It has been over a month since I left the original review. As you can see, the company's PR team requested that I contact them, which I did. I was told the information would be forwarded to the local rep for follow up. Despite again reaching out to them for that follow up, I have received absolutely no communications from anyone at GC, locally or otherwise. They do not care about their customers' experiences or that our Father's Day meal was ruined by one of their staff members. They got our money, that's all that concerned them.
The food, cashier, hostess, and server were great. No complaints there. It was very busy as it was Father's Day. The buffet remained fully stocked and the food tasted good.
The grill cook was rude and apparently has no clue what the different meat wellnesses are. I asked for a medium steak, he cuts open and shows me a medium-well to just about well done steak. I decline and ask for one that is still pink in the middle, only to again have an almost well-done steak shoved towards my plate. He wasn't speaking to customers and was quite rude in his mannerism to the Hispanic customer in front of me who was trying to ask a question.
The biggest issue was seating. Again, Father's Day, it's busy, we understood that there would be a wait. There were multiple parties over 5 people (we had six) so understandably the larger table sections were full. We were offered two tables in a section near the salad bar and accepted thinking they were pushing tables together. They didn't, so we did. Before we could even sit down, Melvin, one of the managers on duty, very rudely and without an initial explanation told us we couldn't do that, to put the tables back. When we asked why, he cited safety reasons, despite the fact that the arrangement of the tables actually opened up more walking space. We requested another table as we weren't going to sit apart (we were there as a family for Father's Day). He refused to move us even though they had literally just said they were sitting a slightly larger party that was right behind us at one of the bigger tables in the back. So there we were, with part of our party sitting at the table behind us, me having to choose between sitting with my father or my husband on Father's Day.
The icing on the cake was that we observed multiple other parties pushing tables together and being accommodated during our visit, in all dining areas, and not one word was said to them.
Completely unacceptable. We have never not been accommodated nor witnessed anyone denied the ability to sit together at any restaurant when there wasn't a single table large enough for everyone , even when there were more guests. Melvin was unprofessional and in no way attempted to rectify or offer solutions to the situation. He also had no answer when asked why we were split up when others were allowed to keep their tables pushed together. Perhaps he was prejudice and assuming they wouldn't understand him since they were Hispanic so he chose not to address them??
Totally ruined our afternoon between his demeanor and refusal to reach some sort of resolution and our family being separated during our meal, especially since we seldom are all able to get together at one time. As far as safety issues, an elderly lady using a rollator was seated in the back of our dining area and had trouble getting our to leave because of the way the tables were arranged and crammed together. I had to push chairs and slide a table for her to get through. Had our tables remained pushed together as desired, she would have had plenty of room to...

I've never had to bad review this location before but ever since they changed the kitchen staff and the management out there this place is went downhill in the form of an avalanche. The steaks being cooked on the fire grill had a brown tint to them and I went against my instincts and ate one bite out of the steak it was discussed mainly because I keep flipping it between the flat top grill and the fire grill which is cooking at two separate temperatures one controlled and one not so much they don't even know how to tell the difference between a medium and a medium rare steak but I get that at quite a few restaurants. When I work there in 2017 it was not even allowed to be cooked on a flat top grill the roast beef next to the grill seem to be slightly undercooked. Macaroni the cheese was too watered down and didn't even taste cheesy but more like milk. And am I not the only person who noticed once they got Hispanic manager the entire kitchen staff and 80% of the waitresses are now Hispanic I find that socially unacceptable I'm not really bothered that the crowd of people in there are now mostly large group of Hispanic families that's fine that's good for business. Me and my wife have food poisoning we're pretty sure of it right now very few things nausea ate me but I've been nauseous all day the day after I've ate here. Their steak was so dry from being cooked so bad on the outside then it was like something you would more likely put in a fajita then serve as an entree their experience cooking was definitely Southern cuisine style restaurant they basically have no idea how to cook the food there and I was a grill cook there for a couple of months I have the right to talk about how to cook steak out there I've done it many times and work how to cook it pretty quick it never charred a steak or got a complain because it was not cooked at the right desired cook in the center in fact I'm so good that I could literally point out a steak on the grill and from the outside I could tell how cooked it was on the inside and I had to point at the steak and get him to hand me the steak that I was sure...
ย ย ย Read moreThe food here is ok for a buffet. Some of it over cooked like some of the meats. The chicken is dry not juicy. The rice isn't done & needs to cook longer. The potatoes are lumpy & the gravy has that kinda slimy film on it I'm guessing from sitting under the heat lamps. They don't keep the hot bars clean & replenished so some of the food will be out or just about out or some of it is kinda dried out from sitting under the heat lights. Some of the food is mixed with other foods because of people making their plates. Be careful if you have a nut allergy or someone in your family does they don't have measures in place to prevent cross contamination. I'm mentioning this because I went to the ice cream bar & the girl went straight from the ice cream with nuts with scoop spoon into the mint chocolate chip without cleaning it or even better getting a whole new separate scooping spoon . The bathroom was nasty every toilet except two stalls was unflushed & it had tissue paper on the floor . The salad bar was the best looking thing in the restaurant when we went. They didn't have enough floor staff to keep up the dining room. The food that I got was ok it wasn't bad . My family had complaints about their food. The fish & chicken was a little dry . The fish I believe was because it sat under the heat lamps on the hot bar too long. The chocolate fountain is nice but people letting the kids basically play in it is a definite nope . My roll was a little doughy in the middle. My rice was not fully cooked . My broccoli was good . My carrots were cooked just right. My beef & gravy I put on my rice was good & helped with the under cooked rice. The staff is friendly & helpful & they checked on our table frequently. Maybe it was this particular day. I will find out if...
