My family and I are usually Rocco’s pizza lovers. But after our experience tonight we will never be going back to the East Berlin location. They were extremely rude and NOT friendly! The middle aged woman behind the counter was rude to my boyfriend and lacks basic human interaction skills. He even wished her a Merry Christmas when leaving and all he got back was a quick “Yeah you too”. The place is dirty and some of the staff are questionable on their hygiene. A little unsettling knowing they’re the ones handling our food. We always order volcano fries and it was nothing but a soggy mess of mushy french fries, ranch, hot sauce and no cheese that was supposed to be on top. Whoever bagged our food was careless and the fries leaked all over the inside of the bag. We took a few bites and pitched it. We got 2 cheeseburger subs that neither of us could finish. Just the appearance of them being slopped together was stomach churning enough but we were hungry so we each ate one half. (One of the worst subs we both ever had). And our kids barely ate the plain cheese pizza we got for them, the cheese looked questionable. We usually use the York Springs location because it’s closer but tonight the EB location was more convenient. Next time, forget convenience, we will stick to the York Springs location because they ALWAYS deliver excellent service no matter how busy they are, have amazing food, great staff and clean environment!! I highly recommend others to do the same, the East Berlin location is gross! To the owner, I’m anxious to see your response to my review since you also seem to lack taking corrective criticism and instead become defensive and rude to the customers who had a less than pleasant experience at your restaurant. I would never write a negative review unless it was 100% truthful and necessary. Your establishment NEEDS improvement and so does your employees...

The subs are large and delicious, on occasion. The pizza is cheesy and they don't skimp on the toppings, on occasion.
On occasion, you ask? Well, here in lies the rub... If you say "no mayonnaise" there is a 97% chance you WILL receive mayonnaise plus excessive oil & vinegar. 20% of the time the pizza is undercooked. One time, they toasted my Italian sub, and it was amazing, however, multiple visits later, and they've never done this again.
Now for the pluses, it's fast. When the subs are actually made to order, they're awesome. Fantastic bread, and quality ingredients. The same can be said for the pizza, when it's made correctly, you'll get perfect crispy chewy crust and generous toppings.
The staff varies each visit. They're generally friendly.
In a small town, with 2 Italian options, this is the superior one, if you're willing to gamble with your money and appetite. I make the gamble but not as frequently as I have in the past because of the odds. It's been months since that perfect sub, and I've accepted the fact that that was an outlier and most probably never going to be replicated, and I hate scraping mayonnaise off of my sub when I get home. That...

Rocco’s Pizza in East Berlin is the kind of small-town pizzeria that reminds you why mom-and-pop places still beat the big chains every time. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the aroma of real dough, bubbling cheese, and a kitchen that runs on pride and tradition.
The pizza? Outstanding. Perfectly crisp crust with just the right chew, a tangy, balanced sauce, and toppings that actually taste fresh — not mass-produced. I ordered the pepperoni and banana pepper combo and it came out piping hot with generous portions and golden edges. It hit every nostalgic note of classic East Coast pizza, with an upgrade in flavor and care.
Service is fast and friendly, whether you’re dining in, picking up, or ordering for a crowd. The staff knows the regulars and treats newcomers like neighbors.
It’s more than just a pizza joint — it’s a cornerstone of the community. If you’re anywhere near East Berlin and craving something that feels both local and legendary, Rocco’s is your move. Five...
