I had to update my review. It's been 5 months since I ordered here. I decided to give them another try because it's convenient. Oriental Pearl is just pathetic at this point. It used to be so good about 10-15 years ago when Ben was the manager and Lee was the server. They were both so friendly. Now the staff is miserable and the food keeps getting worst. It's just awful. They charge $18 for mediocre General Tso's! The fried dumplings were black. The springs rolls were greasy inside and outside of the bag and I was missing the second order (paid for 2 and only got 1). The crab wontons were flat and wimpy. And they should get rid of the bucket of cigarette butts right outside the front door. Seriously who smokes cigarettes anymore? Go out back and smoke. It's gross.

While their food has been better recently, the Kung Po Chicken lunch special is mostly rice, which is disappointing. I ordered the same thing last Friday, and it was the same. The rice is supposed to be the side dish not the other way around. If i wanted that much rice, I would have just...

Tried this for the first and it was "ok".

The place itself is a little run-down but ok for a quick bite.

The menu covers Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese/Sushi favorites. And this is already where my main issue is. They do everything mediocre but not great.

The food was on the duller side and my dish was way too salty. The service was slow, but I'm fairness to the waitress I must say she tried her best but was alone with way too many tables.

I had some questions on some of the dishes which could not really be answered. I was for example trying to find out if the "red curry" on the lunch menu was a Chinese or a Thai Coconut Curry. I gave up after a while and decided to be surprised. Even after eating it, I am not sure what it was supposed to be. But it was mostly salty opposed to spicy, did not have Coconut milk but was still too creamy in consistency for a Chinese curry.

I did not try the Sushi and my rating is based on the lunch menu. But I would not come...

Went yesterday for lunch and when we arrived, one of the waitstaff was behind the sushi bar and bent over and sneezed. Not covering her mouth or anything. Same person wound up being our server. She was sniffling and groggy. I asked if she was ok and she said she has allergies. She was unclear of the menu and had to look up items when my guest asked for a specific thing from the menu. I then asked for clear soup and she said she didn't have that. Clear soup is just the broth from wonton soup. She had to ask someone who worked there and he immediately said of course. Once my lunch came out, she forgot the soup.

The heat was NOT working at the restaurant and a full windy draft was coming through the windows. They had a floor space heater for an entire restaurant.

Now... today i am sick!!! Allergies, my foot! That woman should NOT have...
