I am changing my previous review of 5 stars, fantastic food and service to the sad truth and new reality of poor service and inconsistent and inferior quality. Sorry to say, this place has completely changed. We have spent WAY TOO much $$ with sabatinos over the past couple years. They were awesome for so long but lately, they are awful. I called at 2:30 and ordered four pizzas for $100. On the card tipped $10. I asked for 6:00 delivery and was going to tip another $10 cash. I just wanted the pizza at 6:00. I called at 6:15 and they told me the driver was out with the pizza and should be there any minute. 6:25 I called again and I was told the driver will be there in a couple minutes. I live less than 5 minutes from them. Do the math... When it finally arrived, you already know ....it was cold. I called and spoke with the "owner" and told him what happened. He said it's because he can't get good help, nobody wants to work. That may be the case and it's very sad but I just paid $110 for four cold pizzas that were 30 minutes late, and I ordered 3.5 hours prior to ensure it would be on time! He told me next time he would take care of me...... I don't want any special deals or special service, I just decent food and I want it when they tell me it will be there. Tonight, we ordered one ordinary pizza and chicken finger plater ("4-5 pieces"), $45. The pizza was warm, the fingers.......one legit size chicken tender, two are a little smaller but the other two were the little pieces that fall off of the top of a normal chicken finger. Lorenzo's Steaks has fingers that are always the same good size, and they don't simply out on the fries like sabatinos does anymore. So buyer beware! They admittedly don't have good help and can't seem to maintain a consistent portion. To the owner, I shouldn't have to ask for you the next time I call in order to get decent service, especially when you know I spent $110 on cold pizza that was late to spite it being ordered 3.5 hours prior. BTW, I'm not looking for any free stuff so please don't insult me with a disingenuous offer to take care of me unless it's a gift card to Lorenzo's. I really enjoyed your pizza when it was hot and you didn't chinse out on the toppings. Why would you wait to "take care of me" if you truly value my business? How much are you saving when your customers stop...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYou wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a pizza place willing to swap out regular tomato sauce for one of their other sauces on a pie, that said, if you haven't tried Sabatino's blush sauce on a pizza, you are missing out. The only one disappointed in our house was the dog, because we ate the crust! Pizza gets a 10 out of 10, and since I grew up in the shadow of NYC with some of the best pizza on every corner, I feel pretty confident recommending this pie.
We also tried the Chicken Fantasia, which wasn't as big of a hit, although it was by no means bad. It came with a small garden salad and a slice of tomato pie. The kiddo felt the sauce was too chunky (he's crazy when it comes to texture) and I thought it was a little bland. I tend to cook a lot of cream sauces at home, so it's hard to judge when you are used to something being a certain way. I was expecting more garlic or seasoning, if you've tried the blush sauce at Amore you know what I mean.
Now, for the absolute biggest surprise, the Tiramisu is amazing. Not just passable, or barely edible. But Ahhh-mazzzing. Most of the time if you order it out, you end up with something like those terrible dry cakes at the grocery store that have some kind of icing and pretty much none of that marscapone goodness. This is a real Tiramisu with lady fingers and cream. Definitely a big plus if you've got someone with a sweet tooth in the house.
All in all, we were impressed and will start adding Sabatino's into our take out rotation.
Edited after trying the cheesesteak, definitely not something we'd recommend. Mostly bread and was driest cheesesteak (ordered with whiz) that I've ever had. Fries with platter also overdone. Ended up...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMike Z. & I have been getting takeout from here for quite a few years. The owner and the staff are great and they have always treated us like family even during the toughest of times. Their Pasta Specialties & all their dinners look delicious and are served with a choice of either Soup or Salad, Spaghetti, Linguini or Ziti. They have great Italian Wedding and Chicken Noodle soup along with a thick triangle slice of fresh bread topped with marinara, and are really nice portion sizes. One of our favorites is the Chicken Francaise which we order with Linguini & we also really enjoy the Rigatoni Veneziano. Our favorite pizzas are their large New York Style Regular with Large Strips and Chunks of Sweet Italian Sausage, & their Gourmet White with Spinach. The best part is we almost always have leftovers since it is only the two of us. Donāt hesitate to give them a try and they also offer daily specials which Iām sure are great for families! Thanks Again for...
