Cute place on the inside, very clean, with lively music and prompt (if rather taciturn to the point of bordering on unfriendly) service.
I walked in to place a to go order. I placed my order in Spanish. I made it clear that there were to be no bell peppers in the food as i have an allergy.
It was ready promptly (less than five minutes) and i took it home. I opened it to check it when i sat down to eat, and it was chock full of bell peppers.
Ok. Maybe a miscommunication. Mistakes happen. I went back, told them there was a mistake, and to please remake it with NO bell peppers, again reiterating that i have an allergy.
Food again came out promptly and i took it home, figuring the issue was fixed.
I open it as i sat down to eat and discovered that they did not remake it like i asked. They literally opened the old one, picked out (most of) the bell peppers, wrapped a new tortilla over the old one, and sent it back out.
No photos because i was so mad and disgusted that i had spent almost twenty bucks on a burrito that i couldn't eat that i tossed it in the trash before i even thought of taking pictures.
Personally, I'm never spending money here again. I've heard other people say it was good, but considering the kitchen practices i observed with this order, my confidence in the food for my own consumption is non-existent at this point.
Also of note, not a single member of the staff smiled the entire time i was there. I don't know if they were having an off day, but it was really strange to be in a Mexican restaurant and not have anyone smile. I come from an area very heavily populated with Latinos and they ALWAYS smile, even when they have bad days. This was just extremely odd to me (twilight zone odd) that nobody smiled, not at me and not at each other, so i figured...

The music wasn't gimmicky and the dining area was aesthetically pleasing. Seating is at different heights, giving the illusion of a larger space. It was also clean and well-appointed.
We were "those people" - we walked in at 858pm with a 930pm closing time. Desperate times my friend, desperate times. At this point we expected an eye roll, a sigh, subpar service. NOPE! We were warmly greeted and given a booth and some time to browse the menu. It is a vast menu. My eyes were again bigger than my stomach and I thought I needed a full meal.
Chips & salsa out- the chips are room temp, the salsa was tasty & at a nice mid-spiciness level.
I got the #50 & said no rice. It came out with rice and the gal caught it immediately. She was going to take it back. I declined. I only said no rice because I knew I would eat it & didn't want to waste it. I didn't waste it, I piled it on my husband's plate! I was offered additional beans but declined. I had PLENTY to eat.
My chicken was tender & juicy - easily cut with a fork. The mushrooms added a lovely earthiness, while the tomato cut through the richness, all brought together with sauce and cheese. I kept eating it long after I was stuffed, until I realized my husband was taking the rest of his home - so I piled more on his plate.
We were overly-full & satisfied. We wrapped up at 939pm & greatly appreciate not being rushed out the door. We received excellemt service and very good food. I just hope our tardiness wasn't too much...
Read moreAbsolutely my favorite Mexican food in the area, hands-down. Which is why I begrudgingly continue to put up with order errors. My last three orders in a row (I order delivery through UberEats) have had issues.
The first time, I ordered chicken in my meal - they put in beef, instead. I can't have red meat much, so I tried to call and sort it out, and they completely did not understand what I was trying to say and just kept telling me, in broken English, to come pick up a new order. I was in no condition to drive (hence ordering delivery) so I kept saying that I couldn't come pick it up (I was expecting maybe a small credit for next time, or something, since I order there a lot). They just kept saying, "Okay! You come pick it up! Okay!" Until they finally just hung up on me.
The next time I ordered, they got the chicken right this time... but left out the rice and beans I paid extra for. I just submitted a help request through UberEats and got refunded for it, rather than trying to call again.
The third time, they left out the rice and beans again, and also ignored my "No Guac" instructions (that I always request, and they always have gotten right), so there was a giant blob of guac in there. I got refunded through UberEats again for the missing rice and beans, and I guess it's just a good thing I'm not allergic to avocado (I just ate around the offending guac).
I'll keep ordering because I love the food. But for the love of heck, can someone please come to work with their reading glasses...
