Ordered two 2-for-$5 Super Snacks: one with two cheeseburgers, the other with two small sundaes, with an additional topping for each sundae. The employee read my order back to me and I confirmed it was correct. Including the upcharge for the extra toppings, the subtotal should come to $11.78. I was surprised when I was charged $16.51. I asked the employee at the drive-through window how my order got to be that price, and she didn’t seem to think it was particularly expensive. I asked what is the price of additional sundae toppings, she said it’s .89. So what would be the explanation? I asked if perhaps it was sales tax. She looked like she was thinking about how to answer, and eventually responded with a trepid “Yes…” I said that seems like a lot of sales tax for that amount, to which she replied, “Minnesota tax is crazy.” Well, I don’t disagree with that, but that’s like 29%. I gave her my card and she ran it and gave me my receipt, and then I was able to see that the discrepancy came from a third sundae which I did not order. I then had to go over this receipt with the employee, who then got a supervisor, who in turn looked at the receipt and accounted for the two correct sundaes by setting each on the ledge outside of the window as I described what I ordered. The sundaes continued to sit on the ledge in 80° heat as the supervisor voided the transaction and re-ran my card for the correct amount, this time with no additional items on the ticket. Finally she handed me my sundaes, and eventually the bag with the cheeseburgers. We drove to a park and ate our burgers, then went into the bag for our spoons… only there were no spoons. So we had to drive back to the DQ and ask for spoons. Our sundaes by this time might as well be eaten with straws too. To be fair, my interactions with all the employees were cordial and friendly, but spoons should never be forgotten with an order of sundaes, and additional, unordered items should not find their way onto the ticket, especially when the order was read back without additional unordered items and confirmed by the customer to be accurate at that point. Chilled items should not be placed on the drive-through ledge on a hot day while transaction mistakes are corrected. When a customer pays for double the topping, they should receive double the topping. Yes I got two toppings on each of the sundaes I ordered; however, I received about half the normal amount of each so the total amount of the two toppings combined was equivalent to the standard amount of just one topping. I know times are tough but I paid .89 to have extra and didn’t receive extra. Half the amount of two different toppings combined is not the same as one topping plus an additional topping at their normal individual amounts. It really comes out to be equal to one topping. I’m all for businesses making money but not by cheating the customers. When I told my brother about this visit he said he had a similar experience at the same location, but in his case they charged him for an extra cheeseburger he didn’t order. He can leave his own review on his experience. It seems like there’s a pattern here. I don’t know if they simply charged me for a third sundae and figured they didn’t have to make it, but it was never presented on the ledge along with the other two, so I suspect they were going to give me just the two I ordered while charging me for three and play the odds that I wouldn’t notice or that I would chalk it up to 29% sales tax. If the employee who took my order in the first place hadn’t read it back to me exactly as I had ordered it, this would most likely not occur to me. One more thing, I would’ve shared my experience in a survey before putting this in a Google review, but my receipt didn’t have a survey code. No 15-digit survey code, no 10-digit alphanumeric survey code. I would give this store five stars if they earn it. But while there is room for improvement, I do appreciate the friendly service and correcting their mistake on my order by removing the extra charge for the...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite places to go are usually go to the drive-through because this is also my birds favorite place. Now you all know that when you hop in the car you are going to bring your pet with you and you are going to give your pet some ice cream be that as it may my bird just wants the cone. I am willing to pay we come here for his birthday cone. They have The famous royal blizzard here. I like that they have a monthly blizzard as well as fan favorites which have been brought back some of which I need never knew existed. But wasn’t ready to try them and found them wonderful. They have a happy hour for working mothers probably need that little extra bit of coffee at least that’s how it started out to be. There’s a story behind every tradition that’s been started and I like that. If you look hard enough you will find a story behind everything. They have just started to have signature meals or burgers and I think they’re really good. Messi yes but still good. They have joined with orange Julius. You know the store in the mall that disappeared Yep that one for you get orange Julius is well they can be found at Dairy Queen now. And you can either get a smoothie orange Julius style or a smoothie premium. I find this is a good refreshing treat when it’s really hot and you don’t feel like having ice cream but do you want to have something if you still feel like you’re having a treat because he got it at Dairy Queen. I could go on and on but this is truly the fan favorite place to eat. I have eaten inside to they have done some renovating and I’ve added some taller table is in the corner with tall chairs which is nice and new they still have their booths In the freezers that you can look at the dilly bars and the cakes all which are frozen ice creams. I am happy to see that they have finally brought back and oldie. That was here and was loved by a lot of people and then it disappeared I am talking about my friends that treatza pizza. What is that you ask? Well if they can make cake ice cream why not a pizza. It comes in that size in a box it’s wonderful you should try it for a get together or get one for yourself and take it home but don’t take my word for it you need to try it for your self. Dairy Queen is a ice cream dream come true. And they still have peanut Buster Parfait or if you just want an ice cream cone This would be the place to get it but that’s just my thought have...
Read moreRecently went through the drive through with my 91 yr old mother who has Alzheimer’s. Waited in a long line, got to the window, was handed our drinks, receipt and credit card, and not realizing we didn't have our burgers, pulled out. I turned back into the parking lot, and seeing the line was still long, I parked the car, left mom in it while I ran to the door and knocked on it to see if they could just hand the food to me. Several workers saw me and motioned for me to get in the car line. I tried to get someone to come close to the door so i could tell them I already ordered and paid and just needed our food. They turned their backs and ignored me. I hurried back to Mom, got back in the long line, and when we got to the window again, I said, "I think you could have come to the door." The person, in the rudest voice I have ever heard, said," I think I couldn't have. Our dining room is closed and we can't go running over to everyone who comes pounding on our door," and slammed the window on me. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. And I never treated a customer so rudely when I worked at fast food places or anywhere else. I've lived in East Grand Forks all my life amd like to support EGF business, but am going across the river for my DQ...
