My new favorite sub and cheesesteak spot. I recently discovered them and, my god, are their subs incredible. You can tell alot about a sub shop based on how good their bread is and what kind of cheese they use for an Italian. The homemade fresh baked bread here is possibly the best bread I've ever had from a restaurant. Incredible flavor and you can tell it was just baked within a few hours. The sharp provolone they used was so incredibly flavorful and really paired perfectly with the cotto ham and salami. It's rare to see actual quality sharp aged provolone being used on subs around here, but my Italian father raised me to know that it is an absolute must on an authentic italian sub. Most places around would be too afraid of rocking the boat and then just put some impotent, bland discount provolone on there. Bobby Bays has the guts to do what is right, and their use of delicious aged sharp provolone is proof of that. Everything I've ordered from here so far has been very impressive and I definitely found my new go-to sub place. I don't write reviews very often unless I feel as though I've been moved enough to, but this sub I just ate has almost brought me to tears of joy so I felt it pertinent to write this while I slowly come back from my euphoric stupor that this sub has just put me into. Do yourself a favor and order the Italian from here, you'll...
Read moreAfter trying Bobby Bayâs the first time and loving it, we were excited to order again. I placed an online order and accidentally selected the Strickler Road location. When I went to pick it up, I was met by a very rude and dismissive employee. Instead of offering a solution or showing any understanding, she interrupted me, told me I must have ordered at the other location, and then explained they couldnât remake it there because the âowner says theyâll lose moneyâ (something no customer should ever be told).
I called the other location, and while the manager there was kind and apologetic, by the time I arrived an hour later my food had been sitting for nearly two hours. My cold Italian sub was placed upside down on top of the heat lampâsoggy lettuce and bread made it completely inedible. I can understand fries or a cheesesteak being under the heat lamp, but not a cold sub.
As someone who works in the service industry myself, I know how important it is to take care of people and provide good service. This was incredibly disappointing from start to finish, especially since our first visit was so good. Unfortunately, this experience has made us think twice...
Read moreSo we did have an issue with our order here. I work in food service and I will not complain/take something back unless itâs beyond me being able to pick out what I donât like. When we brought our sandwiches back the cook made the woman who took our order inspect the subs to make sure we werenât lying. Lol. Like bro you made a mistake just fix it and move on. They did let us keep the incorrect subs and made new ones which was cool. My partner will happily enjoy the leftovers.
We both got cheesesteaks which I understand for them to have to make 2 new ones was a costly mistake, however these subs had virtually no cheese on them. The meat and bun were very good. If it had had some cheese, I would have given 4 stars despite the mistake and the cook suggesting we would lie about it.
Next time I come here I will order cooper sharp instead of...
