Vinny and ThozeGuyz Pizzeria — Restaurant in East Lampeter Township

First, I will say they have ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PIZZA IN LANCASTER COUNTY! I drive 9 miles each direction to pick it up! I love their food! However, the last three visits have been bad! The issues are not food or quality issues. They are poor service and attention to detail. 3 visits ago I called ahead as I always do and when I got there the order wasn't even started! Somehow it was never submitted to kitchen and had to wait 20 more minutes for a pizza and cheesesteak. Not even an "oops we're sorry about that" or nothing! No apology or even acknowledgment of a mistake. Waited around for the additional 20mins. I let it go cause things happen and I really like their food. 2 visits ago I called in and when I got there no one was tending the register for pickup. I waited 10 minutes for woman to come from the restroom while food was sitting there ready to go just getting cold. I understand people gotta take care of things but the issue for me was the 2 guys behind the counter seeing me there waiting to pay and pickup and not one of them said anything or acknowledged anyone was there! They looked like they already decided it's not their job. That's what got me upset! At least say someone will be with you shortly or something! Leave someone standing in the restaurant for 10 minutes! Tonight my 3rd consecutive visit I called ahead. When I got there to pickup the gentleman went to check on pizza and it was still in the oven burnt to a crisp! The pizza maker forgot to check on it and take it out! I also ordered a sub. So now I'm steaming. No apology or nothing.. The gentleman says we have to remake the pizza. So that will be another 15-20 mins.. What got me irate was lack of response or care. No apology or nothing! At least say "oh we're sorry about that how bout a soft drink or something while you have to wait another 20 mins"... Nope , nothing! The gentleman went back to being occupied with his cellphone while I just stood there waiting. I asked for a refund and said I've had enough I'm not waiting. He gave refund and did say sorry. He let me take the sub. How can one strike out 3 times in a row!? Just my luck I guess.. Shame cause their food is really amazing! This whole thing would of blown over with at least acknowledgment of oops.. A mistake was made and a sorry.. A beverage while waiting for an error goes a long way with a customer. Just saying. My family & I really liked Vinny & ThozeGuyz Pizzeria. The Pizza was VERY GOOD. We each had a different slice, from the White Pizza w Tomato & Basil, to the Cheese, to the Pepperoni 🍕, it was all So GOOD! We went on a Friday during Lent, so my Husband got The Tuna Hoagie, which he said was Delicious! It surprised him how good it actually was! He said the bread was SO FRESH, too. The atmosphere had a Homey Feel to it. They treated you like Family as soon as you walked in, with a Great Big Hi! The place is owned by an Italian Gentleman. Him & his staff have things down pat. There's a person that waits tables, serves tables, is a cashier, & buses the tables, a person that does nothing but works w the pizza oven & folds pizza boxes, a person who works on the Grill, a prep cook for the grill master, & the owner who preps all the pizza's & hoagies, & such. Then there's a floater person who helps whoever needs it. This place & the employees work like a well oiled machine. They were all busy when we showed up, I just sat & watched them work. I was in AWE at how well they all worked so well together. Food was Delicious, place was Clean & it had a nice Italian Homey Feel to it, which I loved, cause I'm Italian & it reminded me of my Family. We all liked it so much that we said that we would make a Special Trip back (we live almost an hour away & was only in town to do something Special for our son's Birthday) to try something else on the Menu. The service was fast, but I’m amazed that this place has positive reviews. The food was horrible! The pizza was cold and had a weird aftertaste. Hard to bite into and I don’t think it was cooked all the way through. The French Fries were cold, barely seasoned and tasted frozen. As in grocery store French fries… I love pizza, but I was so disappointed with this place that I ate half of one slice and just threw the rest away. Not even Dominos frozen pizza is this bad. This was my first time trying this place and unfortunately I won’t be ordering again. Edit: Just to make a point, I even went so far as to order Dominos as opposed to having this disappointing pizza. Attached are now a comparison. The pizza on the right is the one I received from Vinny and ThozeGuyz Pizzeria (half-eaten between me and my gf, but we threw out the slices we took rather than finishing them) and the one on the left is the pizza I just received from Dominos. Notice how the Dominos pizza is significantly more seasoned and appears more cooked. Also below the Vinny and ThozeGuyz Pizzeria pizza the pizza is charred! The Dominos pizza isn't...
