I really wanted to like this place! I gave this spot many chances but ended up disappointed every time. I’ll start off on their only positive: their pastries are good. I believe they also have some Homeboy industries pastries which is a plus. However, their coffee is terrible! I’ve tried almost all of their coffees, both hot and iced, different milks, and they’re so bad. They either lack flavor or have an overpowering taste of the syrups they use. If you do come here and expect your coffee to taste like the flavor you asked for, you’ll be disappointed. Their matcha tastes super watered down.
Their staff is somewhat kind, but I agree with other reviews that they’re overwhelmed all the time. They’re sort of unwelcoming at times, and it gives me the impression that they’re ran by inexperienced teen girls. It’s always hot and cold with their service.
I came here because I no longer support Starbucks due to their support of the genocide, and I wanted to support a fellow Latina owned business in my city of East Los. But after paying for overpriced drinks just to dump out their coffee way too many times, I’ll keep looking elsewhere. I really hope they improve their service and quality because they do...
Read moreI stopped by Sunday morning with my family for some coffee and snacks. We got there around 11am and the parking lot was pretty empty. There was one person on his laptop, one couple ahead of us and our group. It looks like there was only one person working at first but I think a second came to help after. We were patient as it's my understanding that they are still fairly new. We wanted to come support a local business instead of the bigger well known coffee chain.
I will say, it took a while to place our order but the cashier/barista was so incredibly kind. There's lots of seating inside and outside as well. I also want to point out that it's all very reasonably priced. My kids and I really enjoyed the pizza bagels and I thought my iced vanilla latte was perfect. Not too sweet. Made just right. My husband's eggnog latte was definitely really sweet, maybe even overly sweet but the vanilla latte was perfect. I highly recommend that one.
It's a really cute vibe inside. It feels homey with some cool decor. Lots to look at and a great playlist. It took about half an hour for our drinks and food order and we weren't in a rush but I would definitely come here if you're looking for a relaxed and...
Read moreCame here because they used to be a tamales place not sure if it’s the same owners or not but my gf wanted to check it out because of the latte art prints and whatever my gf wants she gets so we went in and it was a good while to get our order in and once we did took about 15-20mins to get our order and it wasn’t that busy I believe it’s a family that runs it so they were I guess understaffed but there’s still always room to form a better system to take orders and get them out efficiently in my opinion after working years in the service industry in the past. Moving on to the coffee itself latte print was good but the coffee was not the best couldn’t really taste any of the espresso kinda just had a burnt, bitter, and watered down taste as if the previous grounds were just reused. I get it the selling point is the latte print but with coffee this bad the print itself doesn’t justify the price. There are better coffee shops within a mile or 2 radius of this place such as Vida Pura and Acurrúcame but if you don’t mind spending top dollar for a latte print and some low quality coffee then this is the...
