FULL disclosure stay TF away from this place!! My family & I came into this restaurant initially because of the sign that read “Birria estilo Jalisco”, which just translates to Jalisco style Birria. The location itself seemed very seedy and I was a bit apprehensive but had recalled other times when I’ve patronized other hole in the wall locations & the food & overall experience turned out to be great. Unfortunately I should’ve listened to my gut on this one though. The food was below subpar quality, the server we had not only did not seem clean in her appearance but couldn’t be bothered for a very minimal greeting or even half a smile. If miserable was a person it would be personified by the server we had who’s name we never even got. The fam & I were in a great mood but almost immediately this servers terrible mood almost brought us down with her. We ordered 1 combo plate with 3 cheese & salsa roja (red sauce) enchiladas, 2 tamales de raja con queso(pepper with cheese or cheese tamales), 2 a la cart enchiladas (same as the combo red sauce w/ cheese) & one Birria de Chivo(goat meat Birria), 2 Aguas frescas 1 Jamaica & 1 horchata, & lastly 1 mandarin flavored Jarritos carbonated drink. Now upon ordering we were given some paper to go menus that were later snatched back very rudely by our server, the menu depicted the Birria de Chivo as it is traditionally known to be made with a red broth, when I received the Bowl of Birria I was taken aback by the appearance of the soup so much so that I almost thought I was given the wrong menu item. The color was a sickly gray very unappealing & not at all what they had advertised throughout all of their signs & advertisements from the outside of this establishment to the inside & within the menu. Talk about false advertisement. Next one of my family members had ordered 2 cheese tamales. Not only did he not receive 2 cheese tamales but he was extremely disappointed in the undercooked tamales he was given, they were grainy/ sandy & the 1 cheese tamal he did receive had no cheese to be found & the teeniest tiniest sliver of pepper inside. The other tamal he received appeared to be beef. Even the beef tamal seemed to be seriously lacking the actual beef, there were probably a couple of strands of beef in it. Additionally when my fam member was ordering the cheese tamal, because in Spanish you can order either by saying tamal de raja or tamal de queso, when he had ordered to our dreadful server he said,”cheese tamal,” to which with thee most attitude possible this lady replied angrily,”tamal de raja!” To which my fam member responded,” yes please, cheese tamal.” To which yet again this miserable person (the server) replied,”tamal de raja!!” To which then my fam member then replie,”ok well yes.” The server nearly popped her eyes out of her head with the heaviest eye roll. I was in absolute disbelief & disgust. On top of that for their “atmosphere” there were what seemed to be huge disgusting never ending flies. This is an establishment in which people are literally consuming food & there were so many flies you had to be nonstop swatting them away from you & your food. After this disgraceful experience when we got the check it was simply written out in some terrible penmanship with no breakdown of anything other than the total totaling to $80 dollars. I was shocked, especially because guiding myself with the alleged menu prices including drinks & rounding them all up to $5.00 each the total was simply not adding up. I guess they overcharge you if you look a certain way or if you look like you actually maintain regular hygiene & wear clean clothing?🤷🏻‍♀️

Why bother even making the tortillas by hand if they aren’t even going to put salt ? A basic seasoning come one ? Isn’t this east LA/ little Mexico ? Where can I go for some flavor? I when here to give the place a chance and spent 40 bucks for lousy tasteless food . The soup was not even remotely spiced. A homeless women walked by and said “what is that “ and I said idk it’s gross you what it ? She said “oh no!” lol I won’t be going back here and waste hard earned money .

I'll NEVER FORGET THIS PLACE. I went there about 3 years ago. No place compares. This is thee Worst place to eat at. Tasteless, expensive & above & beyond RUDE. I ordered a carne asada burrito (steak.) I asked if it included rice in it. The lady taking my order went to go ask the cook lady. She confirmed it didn't. So I paid & waited. I was on my way to work, so I didn't dine in. I was given the burrito & thanked the woman who took my order. I went to my car & took some bites & it seemed to be only meat. I went back to the lady & told her there were no beans in my burrito. She went to ask the cook. The cook came out,  got my burrito, opened it and showed me about 10 whole beans in the burrito. I told her that needed more beans. She said, in Spanish, "Well if you don't like it- then that's your problem" & walked back to the kitchen. I had to re-wrap the burrito, in front of the lady that charged me. If that isn't the worst service, idk what is. It is definitely the worst service I've ever had. The burrito was tasteless, filled with oily, lowest quality meat. Then they charged over $12 & told me where to go. Well that was the first & last time at this sorry place. Do yourself a favor-choose better service & tastier, better food. Those people don't value...

I spotted this restaurant because of its sign on the sidewalk, "Birria estilo Jalisco". I was excited to try this food and I was hungry. They have a small parking lot in the back and you can enter the restaurant through the back as well. I must say I was not let down. I ordered the Birria for breakfast, yes birria, I didn't finish it ofcourse but it was delicious. They start you off with chips and salsa while you look at the menu. They have a good selection of drinks and food, and the prizes are affordable. El agua de Jamaica is very tasty too. I noticed a milkshake blender; I'll definitely be coming back for...
