Uncle Benny's Gyros — Restaurant in East Moline

I'm extremely picky when it comes to places of employment to put it mildly! This is because I won't work somewhere that is not a place I would eat or use any service the business may offer! If I won't enjoy any product that any place of employment I've ever worked then I refuse to stick around to promote something I want nothing to do with. I have OCD as well and if a place of business doesn't take pride in their own business to allow employees to take the time needed to keep things clean then I don't stick around! The point is you can trust that Uncle Benny's Gyro is a wonderful place to go!! I started working there right after they opened and wasn't sure if I would stay as they have extremely high expectations and very strict about every employee doing each job the same way. It took me awhile to understand that it is because they want to be sure that their customers get the consistency that is something most all customers want as they like knowining what to expect without worrying that it isn't going to be good one time and then amazing the next. They always make sure everything they serve is premium quality product Which to keep quality in their business and maintain the consistency which is very important to them they have to raise prices with price of product inflation. I am someone who is more than willing to pay a bit more for quality not to mention the quantity that every person is receiving. So I drive quite the distance to still work there whenever I am able to. I enjoy seeing the regulars as I've gotten to know many of them personally over the course of 5+ years. Things are not always perfect as anywhere and everyone makes mistakes however I've never seen any other business try so hard to prevent mistakes as Uncle Benny's Gyro does, they take pride in not only their business but also the customers and that is the reason I still go there to work whenever I am able to it's been over 5 years now :-)!!!!! Hope to see you stop in and enjoy the quality and quantity of all products served along with a clean environment and friendly staff.The Last Thing I Want To Be Sure That If Ever you have an experience that is not consistent with what I am saying be sure you let someone know so it can be addressed and not happen again as they want to know so whatever you may have experienced Uncle Benny's Gyro cares and appreciates your business which is why they do their best to be certain that everyone learns from a mistake so it doesn't happen again. It is Important To Not Only Uncle Benny's Gyro Business but to the other employees whom have gotten to know each of you if you have already been there and that look forward to see new customers as well and Myself because each and every customer is IMPORTANT besides I MISS SEEING THOSE WHO KNOW ME RATHER WELL and I Love to see new customers come in and listen to them say how much they enjoy everything. When I walked in to this establishment the gentleman behind the counter with talking with another man as I walked up to the counter he said yo what's up I've been in retail for many many years and retail management and upper management you don't greet customers with yo what's up, that might work in the hood but the Quad Cities is not in the hood as far as food goes I ordered the Philly cheesesteak with some A jus on the side, the A jus tasted like water ,the Philly cheesesteak was well proportioned but did not have much flavor and the peppers and the onions on the sandwich were crispy not sauteed, but this could be because I arrived there 25 minutes after they opened. now I will say they have a couple other items on their menu I think I'm going to try so I will be back hopefully I'm greeted with a little more professionalism. This restaurant is one of my favorites in the quad cities!! It is a little on the costly side. I just love their Italian beefs!! Is a must try!! I am from Chicago and this place definitely meets up to it! Though, I was very disappointed when I introduced my fellow coworkers to this place last week and we were all very bothered as to how the owners of this place were treating the employees. We over heard a few rude comments and that is unprofessional of them this made our experience very uncomfortable ..especially when customers are eating and are receiving their first impression of a business. This is out of character for a business and it should be kept behind closed doors.This does not help grow cliental. I will continue to dine in to uncle Benny's !!
