We got food from here several times. Issue was it was not consistent. We spent a lot of money on take out on St Patrick's day last year and it was absolutely awful. We were missing items, my seafood dinner was cold, the tartar sauce and coleslaw were spoiled and you could smell it it was that bad. My bf got the Shepard's pie and it was missing things in it and totally different from the several times prior. I understand it was a holiday so the extended wait time after the stated ready time was slightly understandable but not completely. Drop kick Murphy's were having a live free concert and he missed a good part of the concert. It was definitely not worth that. I do not recommend them.
I also deliver for doordash and their staff are just ignorant and persnickety. Only once have I had the pleasure of being greeted by a nice staff member. My first time in there to pick up an order and there was literally 2 people at the bar and one table full of customers. The staff blatantly ignored me and then told me after I finally had enough of being ignored and said something (because yes there i was standing at the middle of the bar with the big red Dasher bag you can't miss it unless you are blind). They then told me I had to move down to the end of the bar to get my order (I mean come on she was so busy she couldn't get her nose out of her phone to notice even the zombie apocalypse). I loathe having to do deliveries for here because of the merchant but the customer's tend to tip well so I grin and bear it. I would not otherwise step foot in this establishment even if it was the zombie apocalypse and they had the only remaining alcohol on the planet. No joke.
Not today...
Read moreI have been coming to the keg now for over 2 years. It has always been a great place to hang out, have a few drinks, and a good meal. Sadly, this last visit left a lot to be desired.
After taking a seat at the bar, right away we noticed the new menu (after asking our server, it changed right before Christmas). What's new? Turns out this "irish pub" has turned into a southern BBQ joint. I would say that about 50% of the new menu is all BBQ dishes inspired from the owners vacation down south. Normally, I am all about BBQ, but it just doesn't fit this place. I feel that they really lost touch with what the Wooden Keg stands for. Did the Molly Maguires' eat BBQ? Kind of a weird match if you ask me... Besides that, I feel that they really increased the prices from the previous menu. Side note, if you loved their Jalapeno bites from before, they are no longer... RIP.
The Keg was introduced to me as a great wing place, so of course we order wings. The new menu lists them as "Market Price", so naturally we ask the price. For 10 wings it came to $10.99... that's over a dollar a wing! Whatever, so my boyfriend ordered the wings (Garlic Parm) because he honestly wasn't interest in anything else on the menu. When the wings came out, they were soaking in butter (way more than necessary). They were so greasy that he didn't even eat all 10 wings.
Thankfully, our server was amazing and helped us navigate the new menu. Even went back in the kitchen to ask about the Jalapeno bite recipe so we could try to make them at home. I hate writing a negative review about a place that I loved, but I don't think we have a reason to return to the Wooden Keg after...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I have come to this restaurant for and we had an absolutely amazing experience. The food was. Great, The service was better than good, And I thought the food came out at a reasonable amount of time. That was then, And this is now. Earlier today we came for the second time. I ordered the hot honey chicken macaroni and cheese. It took some time to get it and i'm okay with that, But our waitress, well, I think was new and didn't know what she was doing. After receiving my meal I realized I did not like the flavor. The chicken portion was fine, But the macaroni and cheese taste like metal, It could be because it came in a cast iron scale it and maybe they're using a non stick spray that has a bad taste. I've experienced that before as well, not here though. Is in short, I complained to our waitress about my food tasting bad, and she said that she didn't know why it tasted that way and completely disregarded me. I didn't eat much of it and gave it back. She still charged me the full amount. Didn't even offer to exchange it for something else. After I told her I didn't like it. She still came back to the table and asked if I wanted a box for it to take home. I've already told her it was bad, why would you ask me that. At least my girlfriend liked her meal. I didn't want to make a scene so I took my loss. I may give it one more go, since my first...
