Severe Inflation took me straight to Aldi. I haven't shopped there in quite awhile but I remembered the great savings I used to get on their brands. Let's just say as I got in the door I could see that Aldi had gotten very very expensive. I was disappointed. They used to be a staple to a struggling family but sadly not anymore. Saving maybe $0.05- .10 cents here and there is okay ..but not really much help. I don't understand their logic for charging "regular prices" for "Generic" brands. Example; Aldi has their own brand of Cold brew coffee and to my surprise it was actually more expensive than the Starbucks which they sell right next to theirs. Their Dairy department: eggs, milk, butter..exct.. was basically as expensive as top notch rated Brands and Stores even though Aldi are using unknown Dairies. Generic used to mean big savings back when Aldi first...
Read moreI love the new location. There's so many amazing deals. Some of my favorite isles are the non good isles. They also have delicious hummus and amazing pricing on fruits and veg. They have name brand items as well as off brand/aldi brand which some of them are very tasty. The aldi brand bread wasn't my favorite it felt cheap imo. But the Pickles are yummy, the vegan "oreo" cookie ice cream is yummy. I didn't like the pb chocolate vegan ice cream though. You really just have to buy stuff and try it. The aldi brand cereal is hit or miss. The cheerios knock off isn't great but the Crispix and frosted flakes aldi brand taste like the name brand ones...

But my husband had never been, so we gave it a try. They’ve upped their game. Not everything we bought was a winner, but most of it was on par with, if not better than, products at higher priced stores. The best part, though, was their wide variety of gluten free items. Most stores in the area are lacking the food I need to stay out of the hospital. And it’s good. Well, as good as gluten free gets. Now that I’m an adult, I understand why my parents...
