Listen...I deliver in the Phoenixville and Spring City areas every weekday. Doing this job I have popped into every strip-mall and stand-alone pizza joint on my usual corridor...just trying to get a quick slice I can eat while driving at the same time. Maybe there's a great place on Bridge St. in Phoenixville (no easy parking) at a lofted price...but I can't afford a $6 plain slice and a $3 soda. When I first walked into Vito's I saw light bulbs that needed to be changed and booths that needed a sweep of crumbs but since I've seen similar stuff before I didn't let it bother me. Anyway, I approached the front counter a was greeted by a nice dude. After checking out the decent variety of slices I asked for one plain...just one minute in the oven and a paper plate was fine...I need to drive and eat at the same time so warm is okay. Fair price and exactly what I had asked for. I tossed the plate onto the backseat of the delivery car because I had a couple of nearby deliveries and a spot not too far away where I can pull over and dig in and then have an after-meal cigarette. The reason I'm going off on this rating is...their pizza REALLY tastes better. I'm not sure if it's the cheese or the sauce...pretty sure it's the cheese. And the crust has a wonderful crispiness which NOBODY does as well around here. A very delicate undercarriage crisp that all the doughy joints aren't getting right. BTW - Their slices are big...hence the NY style on the sign.
After all this, If you're familiar with 'One Bite Pizza Reviews' on YouTube with Dave Portnoy then you'll understand why I'm ranting like this. It's really tasty pizza...in a tiny strip mall...in...
Read moreOn 10/29/16 I ordered a Veal Parmesan Dinner. When I returned home and began to eat, the taste was awful! I smelled the veal and it was either freezer burned, rotten, or both. I called to complain and they told me to bring the meal back (he said he needed it to show to their vender, as I wasn’t the only complaint). I returned it, and things started going south. My options they gave to me were to either get store credit or another meal (and oh, by the way, you can have a free slice!). My expectation was that I would get another meal AND my money back. I’m not being greedy, that’s just what was offered when this happened at a few other establishments. And I would have been fine with that. However, when I asked for that, I was told by the owner “no, we don’t do that.” I told him I drove all the way back here just to get a replacement? And maybe a free slice? For getting rotten food? But that’s all I was going to get. I complained a bit more, and he relented. After getting my money out of the cash register, he threw the cash at me- literally THREW the cash! I was soooo angry. I didn’t bother to count it, I just put it in my wallet and walked out. Here’s the thing- they lost a customer for life, I’m never going back there. For a restaurant that only has location going for it, this is not good. They have a product that is the same as the other 5 or 6 pizza places within a mile of where I live. They have nothing to differentiate themselves. Well, now they do differentiate- dismal customer service and...
Read moreWell I must say 1 star is more than you guys deserve. First off a Friday night for same town delivery and it takes 1.5 hours. From the start the person who took my call sounded like I was bothering her from doing something better but its her job to pick up the phone. Second I can see why my order was completely screwed up. The noise level was horrible. I'm actually shocked my credit card was charged right because I had to repeat the number 3 times. Third of all I guess asking how to spell my street name isnt common sense. I had a rude loud mouth female call to ask my address. Um excuse me its not my fault you guys had it wrong. But wasn't shocked when she showed up because she looked completely unprofessional with her ghetto entire of offensive tattoos covering her arms and music blaring in the back. If I was the owner I would recommend you get a uniform and not having a sign on a roof of a car. Than to add icing on the cake when I gave a pity tip she literally mumbled under her breath something.
If I were you guys I would save your money. Friday night (July 26th) was my first and last time I will ever support this establishment. Will try Freshies or Center City their reviews were...
