Do yourself a favor and make sure to stop in at Blu sky's Café in Eaton the next time you're there. It's owned by brother and sister duo, Skylar and Tanner. They've had the brick and mortar café for a few months now, and yall... I wish I'd have made it there sooner.
The entire café is painted and furnished in a way that feels inviting as soon as you step over the threshold. Long tables await groups of various sizes, while tall chairs are situated at bar-height tables at the front of the building overlooking a bustling street with views of the courthouse. Meanwhile, beautiful couches are placed strategically for cozy reading or casual conversation.
Even with only 45 minutes left before close, the smell of fresh-baked goods in the oven wafts through the air, seemingly drawing customers to the larger-than-life display cases featuring a number of drool-worthy pastries. While it was difficult to narrow down which delicious treat to pick, I ultimately chose the pumpkin cinnamon roll, as well as a piece of pumpkin cheesecake from the refrigerated case for my son. While I chose to forgo a coffee due to the time of day, I look forward to returning soon to explore the menu more fully.
The café also offers snack boxes and lunch items, which I plan to try one day as well.
The price was extremely decent, considering items are made fresh, in house, daily. According to one of the owners, nothing stays on the shelves beyond 24 hours, which is what I would consider extremely fresh.
Review of items:
Let's start with the pumpkin cheesecake. I only got one small bite before my son hastily devoured it all, but the bite I did have was tasty. The pumpkin and cheesecake were perfectly balanced, creating a creamy and flavorful bite without the overwhelming pumpkin spice flavor.
As for the cinnamon roll... listen. I am not the world's biggest fan of cinnamon rolls, but it looked so good in the case and I LOVE pumpkin, so I decided to try it. It was simultaneously the best and worst food decision I've ever made because I absolutely loved it, and will now be craving it for days to come. Typically I find cinnamon rolls overly sweet with icing that does little for the overall flavor, but this cinnamon roll... 🤤 this one was different. The cinnamon filling was light and nicely accompanied the soft, yet fluffy, pumpkin roll while the icing was just the right amount of sweet with a hint of cream cheese frosting flavor.
I know this is a lengthy review, but supporting small businesses is so important, and Blu Sky's Café is...
Read moreIf grandma recommended you stop at this cafe, bakery, and restaurant I would highly recommend you follow her advice! Tanner, Skylar, and the crew are amazing! This cafe offers variety of fresh brewed drinks, as well as a crazy good full bakery to complement ( cheesecake and brownies were delicious). Restaurant offers both breakfast and lunch items if you’re feeling peckish. I had the pleasure of having a coming soon item known as sweet and spicy turkey sandwich. AMAZING! The sandwich is culinary genius in my opinion. Served on crispy croissant along with turkey, lettuce, and blend of garlic aioli and spices. The heat is strong on the front but doesn’t linger. The sweetness comes along as what I can only describe as Hawaiian roll-like, perfect along with the heat. Well done blue sky! We will...
