Karl's Bar-B-Q Express — Restaurant in Eau Claire

Wow wow wow wow wow. Five wow's for the five well-deserved stars rightfully earned by Karl's BBQ. After hearing my folks lauding and revering their baked potatoes and pulled pork these past few months, I had to give it a try on my most recent visit to the Chippewa Valley. I am a previous native who switched to the dark side and moved to the Northwoods of MN where the BBQ scene is nonexistent. Additionally, during my time in the valley, I never knew where to go for a good brisket, pulled pork, or some ribs. Holy cow you guys this is it. We found it. They did it. melt-in-your-mouth meat no matter what you pick (brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and the turkey which I tried via leftovers from my folks). My fiancé and I had the two-meat platter with brisket and ribs and ordered a pork potato on the side. We loved it so much that, for our return journey to MN, we bought the SAME potato and a pulled pork sandwich to go! Inhaled it shortly thereafter! LOL.

But the beauty of it was not only the food and the price, but the service was in minutes. Like, less than two minutes from order to sit-down. Usually the recipe is: you get good food, it's cheap, or it's fast; pick two. This had it all! Now I would only say "cheap" by today's standards, but hey we live in a society. My belly doesn't speak in dollars and cents, either! ;)

My new go-to barbecue joint with the family. A guilty pleasure for sure that deserves your money, your stars, your attention, and taste buds. Go get you some! I know it'll be...

First time at this restaurant.

SERVICE: Excellent service. The two gentlemen were very attentive to my order. They understood this was my first visit and they made sure I took the time I needed to order and also helped me out with questions I had a long the way.

While I waited, I was offered a sample of their burnt ends...which were good

FOOD: My order was the 2 meat plate. Pulled pork, smoked turkey, mac & cheese, beans, and corn bread. I also ordered a peach cobbler.

Lots of food. I preferred the smoked turkey to the pulled pork, but that is an individual preference. The beans were loaded. Every bite had something that complemented the beans...bits of meat or cooked onions.

The Mac & cheese was nothing special to me, but overall the food was good.

ATMOSPHERE: While my order was to-go, there is ample seating inside and the seating area was clean and organized.

Overall, a good BBQ Joint. I will go back.

We had Karl's cater our wedding November 19, 2022. They were recommended to us by a friend of ours and we are so glad we went with them! The food was divine! From our taste testing we knew we were in for a fantastic dinner people would enjoy and go back for seconds and thirds! You get more than your money's worth. Our guests could not say enough good things about Karl's BBQ! A few guests who had the chicken said it was the first time the chicken wasn't dry at a wedding. We also had Ribs, Pulled Pork and Brisket (for the head table). Our sides were the Mac n'Cheese, Potato Salad, Cucumber Salad, Cowboy Beans, and Cornbread with Honey Butter. The comments rolled in! Still coming in almost 2 weeks later! People who didn't normally like potato salad or mac n/cheese from a BBQ place LOVED them. The food was fantastic! Karl is fantastic and so easy going. I was happy to talk to him directly for any question I had. He is really prompt with responses and knowledgeable in what people look for in a catering service. Whether you're looking for a meal for 2 or catering an event...I highly recommend Karl's...
