Brand new and clean, in a former location that housed a Subway. Friendly service and great food. I think one thing you'll immediately notice when taking a bag with a half sandwich (I had Italian which I like using to compare place) is that you feel the weight. They're not skimping. Many other sandwich places, a half sandwich is something you barely feel that you ate, but definitely not the case here. Solid amount of meat, but the bread holds up. It's soft but has flavor and doesn't fall apart to any oil or dressing like some places with softer breads. Just the right amount of mayo and dressing to add flavor but not overpower. I also had a gyro, and it was really good too. The tzatziki is more solid, not the overly runny stuff (aka cheaply water-diluted because the yogurt and dairy part is the expensive part) in many places that can make a sandwich soggy. While I don't live near there, I do go to Champions Hall on Friday nights for volleyball, and this is definitely a good option to grab beforehand, maybe eat a bit before and have some for after since there aren't many options open past 11pm even on a Friday. Also conveniently located next to Jerry's Foods if you wanted to grab something to eat while doing...
Read moreJust tried Bo Diddley's for the first time. The ingredients of the Turkey sandwich I received seemed fresh and of high quality and the prices were fair. However, my sandwich had far too much bread as well as nowhere near enough mayonnaise. I get some people don't like a lot of mayonnaise due to being trained that "fats are bad", but fats are a good thing, and the ratio of mayonnaise to bread and toppings is extremely important (think of a salad short of dressing.) The picture on their website shows a sandwich that likely had some of the center of the bread torn out and is loaded with mayonnaise. Both of these things are what my sandwich needed. The bread was soft and not outrageously thick, but thick enough that it completely covered up the taste of the meat, cheese, and plentiful toppings. And without enough mayo, made for a very, very dry sandwich. I was going to tear out some of the bread myself, but that is where the thin layer of mayonnaise was pressed in. I want the sandwich pictured on...
Read moreI like to consider myself a sandwich aficionado. Throughout the country, I always make it my mission to try regional classics, getting a feel for what makes an area tick. That said, I 100% overlooked Bodiddleys when it opened a location near me. Just a local subway it looked like - cold cuts, soups, nothing special.....I was wrong, so wrong. The quality of ingredients is second to none, the friendliness of the staff is top notch and the bang for the buck is unreal. I am a big guy so got a full sized sub, which ended up being two full meals, so while you may scoff at a $12 sub when you are used to $5 dollar footlongs, this is on a different planet entirely.
If you are passing through that area, I suggest you go out of your way to grab a delicious sub and help a true local business continue to grow and expand. Hoping to see more locations in...
