Really solid overall experience! Almost everything we ate was delicious. We ordered the Focaccia table bread and the Oven Baked Goat Cheese for appetizers. The Goat Cheese and the bread served with it were DELICIOUS and we will absolutely be ordering that again. It was the highlight of our meal. I would not recommend the table bread to anyone. It was dense and gummy, not light and fluffy. It is priced at $3 per person, so we paid $6 for the 3 slices of bread we received. Considering that table bread is often free at Italian restaurants, I cannot justify paying $6 for the poor quality of the bread. I understand costs have gotten very expensive, so I have no problem with a business charging for bread. But if you are going to charge for it, the quality should be there. I really hope that they tweak this recipe as table bread is a staple in American Italian restaurants. Luckily, the bread was the only disappointment in our meal! We also had the Sweet Potato Gnocchi which was phenomenal. Very clearly fresh and made in house. We loved the Mediterranean Sea Bass, the roasted tomato compote was delicious. Overall our meal was really solid! Our server was very kind and checked up on us often. The atmosphere feels kind of like a Sports Bar to me with all the TV's in the bar area. But who really cares about the atmosphere when the food is great? We are looking forward to our next visit and excited to see how the...
Read moreOn Saturday, May 24, 2025, our group visited Kevin’s Italian Bistro, drawn by their website’s advertised special: Short Rib Ragu over Mafaldine Pasta. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing.
When I inquired about the special at 6:30 p.m., our server seemed unaware of it, responding, “What special?” After I referenced the website, she consulted the manager and returned to inform us they were out of the dish. This lack of communication was frustrating.
Three of us ordered martinis, which arrived half-full. When we raised this with the manager and bartender, we were told this was their standard pour. For comparison, nearby Bacio’s offers a full martini for just a dollar more. Our appetizers arrived at room temperature. We ordered bread and when I inquired about butter I was told they did not have butter.
The entrees were equally disappointing. The chicken marsala was tough and nearly impossible to cut, the “risotto” was plain white rice, and one dish arrived lukewarm. The pizza was acceptable but not worth the trip.
Overall, the service, food quality, and attention to detail fell far short of expectations. We won’t return and cannot recommend Kevin’s...
Read moreI really wanted to like this restaurant but it did not meet expectations for the prices being charged. We had the shrimp scampi special and it was devoid of flavor. For $30 I expect it to taste better than Olive Garden. It was angel hair pasta tossed in olive oil with a couple sun dried tomatoes and 4 shrimp. Garlic is a key component and it was completely missing. No parsley, no parmesan, no lemon. The shrimp had zero seasoning and seemed to not be sautéed but possibly baked. It's like they cooked everything separately and threw it together on the plate. The shrimp scampi at Olive Garden is miles above this and I'm by no means an Olive Garden fan. We also had the Spicy Sausage Orecchiette which was decent but not amazing. The Chopped Salad was the highlight of the meal. Very enjoyable with good flavor. The service was fine albeit a bit slow. Maybe it was an off night but overall I felt like the food was just not up to par. Would love to see more independent Italian restaurants but if you can't do better than...
