Sirloin House — Restaurant in Eden

OK, I'm not pissed anymore so now I can write this review in a purely honest manner. First off let me say that my wife and I were customers here for the last three or four years. Not occasional customers. Not once-in-a-while or sometimes weekend customers, but everyday loyal customers. Everyday for breakfast, most of the time for lunch or supper and sometimes all three meals. Looking back on my bank statement I calculate we were spending $500 or more in most months. Loyal customers, right? Well on May 12 when I took my wife out to supper for Mother's Day we certainly wasn't treated like loyal customers. After reciving the steaks we ordered they were, as usual, not cooked the medium we ordered but well done. It's a problem we have run into here constantly. The inability of the cooks in the kitchen to serve a steak the way it was ordered. The people who read this review and have ordered steaks more than a few times will know exactly what i'm talking about. It seems the cooks either don't know how to cook a steak, don't care how they cook it or are just totally oblivious to what the customer wants. On numerous occasions we have brought this to the attention of Marie the current manager and numerous times she has sent them back to the kitchen to try again. And we wait . Wait while the other food gets cold and the ice melts in the drinks. When it happened again on this occasion we decided enough is enough. After being notified that the owner was in the restaurant (it would be improper to say his name, "Johnny") we asked to speak to him. Instead Marie showed up. When we told her we wanted to see the owner she informed us that he was busy counting tickets or some lame thing. We left the restaurant and I was pissed. I left my phone number with Marie and requested she give it to Johnny. If she did he never called. Can you imagine an owner of a business where he is so nonchalant about his customers that he could care less about any problems they may have. Even after this I can't give the restaurant a very bad rating, after all we eat there for the last three or four years so how bad could it be? The everyday fare is pretty good even though the menu very seldom changes or features anything new. (The cooks can't cook a steak correctly so maybe that just cook what they know how). and the service is most of the time pretty good owing to the girls there. UPDATE IN FEB 2022 we went back & service & food 100% better & back on track! } I always recommended Sirloin House but the past 4 times something has changed. The Friday Turkey & sides were always good but last 2 times fatty skin all mixed in my plate & was awful. I tried to tell cashier when I checked out but was ignored. So I said NO MORE TURKEY! So my sis in law & I did the hot bar recently & potatoes bland & tasteless. Potato salad not good. Chicken & dumplings taste better from a can. Even the banana pudding was meah. The only good part was the northern beans. We wanted to sample each item so we would know what we may want later on but I wouldnt order any of it. The fish on the bar was okay but a little tough. I think it will be a long time before we dine there again. Sad to say because I always loved the food & service. My husband said same thing about the turkey meal. Never again. It used to be our every Friday night go to! Maybe they will improve again & many folks still love the place but I just cant go anymore. Update: we used gift card to try sirloin house again Friday April 9th. 2021Took in laws. Waitress nice but 3 of them went outside or somewhere and let our food sit and get cold. Gravy luke warm..mac n cheese cold. Waitress replaced but was like 4pm and service slow after we ordered. Not going back again..period. Manager lady we told her that the hush puppies tasted salty and not good. She never smiled or even acknowledged what we said at checkout! She rarely smiles....

First I'd like to say I had to give the 1 star other wise it be ZERO. I really tried to love this. I did. We have been on multiple occasions and each time was well its on experience. But I am here to talk about my last experience with this place. First we went in and even though they was packed everyone was friendly. Our waitress was real friendly. She brought our food out and she noticed my cup had a leak. She went to get me a new cup. Brought it back I kid you not halfway through my pancakes after several sips of tea something was in my mouth I look down and I kid you not it looked like some one dumped all kinds of food in my cup, it was gross i couldn't even keep my composure. I was pissed. I didn't even get to finish my food or my husband we left complained at the front.. she took the tea off our meal. Although I couldn't even finish my meal she didn't even apologize. This place is always disgusting. I don't know how they are still open with the filth and unorganized mess. We won't be back to this place ever even of someone else paying we won't be back. I don't get how they stay so busy. People must really not care about eating in filth. Zero...
