Read moreThe food was decent but not great. I ordered the chipotle chicken with a salad. The salad was fresh with feta cheese and a citrus dressing. The sandwich had two pieces of chicken, but they were dry. I think the food was a little high for what it was. I had two main issues overall: (1) a food preparing in the back was touching food with his bare hand, and (2) they wanted a tip prior to getting your food. Even if you wash your hands, gloves still need to be worn; that's just proper infection control protocol. No well-respected established asks for a tip prior to receiving your order. You have to walk up and order your food instead of them coming to your table. They do walk around periodically to ask how the food is. I unfortunately did not see any reason for a tip to be warranted, because it felt more like a fast food environment. If they want to earn tips, then I would suggest seating the customers, taking their order at the table, and checking on them more. Asking for a tip at the very beginning is a crude behavior in the restaurant business. The place was beautiful though, and the staff I spoke to was really friendly. The name is definitely...
Read moreJust tried Oh Sugar for the first time. Walking in everything is nice, clean, and spacious. The only thing that threw me off at first, as a newcomer, was that we had to get menus to take to the table then go back up to order. The staff will come collect your plates as you finish but they aren’t like traditional waitresses that take your order etc. This isn’t a big deal at all though, I just didn’t know what to expect at first. We had the breakfast burrito, avocado toast, and the berry waffles. The waffles were probably the best waffles that I’ve ever had… smelled amazing as soon as she sat the plate down. They were topped with fresh berries and a delicious caramel sauce. I’ll definitely be getting those again! The breakfast burrito was tasty, I wish it had a salsa to dip it in but it was a good breakfast burrito nonetheless. Avocado toast was also delightful. The peach mimosa tasted like peach rings. We went back for ice cream, and it was so creamy with a wonderful flavor. The staff were all friendly. I will absolutely be back. I really hope this place sticks around because it’s just the kind of place...
