I've been a regular customer here and the coffees are great - probably the best I've had anywhere else. Sadly, they don't hire the right people. There's no respect for customers, especially regular customers. Today, we drove an hr there and got stuck on the way, only to reach around 6.30-6.35 pm, and we were aware that they would close at 7 pm. It wasn't crowded when we went, but we ordered our coffees around 6.40 pm or so. They took about 15-20 mins to get our coffees ready and give it to us only around 6.55 pm or a few mins before 7 pm. After that, they didn't let us sit there, which is fair. But when this guy asked us and a few others there to leave, I politely mentioned that we'd just gotten our coffees and that the cashier and barrista had had no problem with us sitting for some 5-10 mins. The guy said, "I'm telling you to leave, not asking you." That was such a terribly rude thing to say. I was getting ready to leave and said that I've been a regular customer here and had gotten stuck on the way during my hour-long drive here. He said, "Don't come back here again." This was a young male employee who didn't look older than a high school or college kid. Maybe he's in his twenties, idk. But this is such rude behavior, and they just lost a bunch of customers - me and my family / friends. I believe I'll listen to this wonderful guy by not going back there ever again. I really don't have to go where I'm not welcome, and where they make you wait to give your coffees and then ask you to get out. The sad thing is they don't hire the right people. They hire the wrong people and probably don't pay them much. Such rude, disgusting behavior with no business sense and no sense of capturing and retaining customers that they should be grateful to have while Covid is still going on. There's no gratitude among the employees here, no respect, and there's a huge sense of entitlement which isn't acceptable. The rating is for their rudeness, disrespect, and bad behavior. Even if quality isn't great, being polite or at least not being so openly hostile and rude, is everything in the...
Read moreKuppi has probably the best location in the whole area including nearby towns. The ambiance is good and big which allows people to be separated and not like in other small coffee shops where you are like a sardine with the other people. However there’s not much other good stuff I can say about it. I’m in the hospitality industry myself and I really dislike the military style signs they put in different places in the coffee shop.. Signs like: “Keep away from the counter”, “No more than 30 min”.. “Don’t move furniture”.. For God’s sake what happened to the word PLEASE And the kindness that you are supposed to have in a hospitality business like this.. Indoor dining has reopened in NJ since early September.. however not for Kuppi.. TBD—are you serious? Anyhow as for this issue - it’s your business so I can’t say much about it. I agree with people that prices are high! But as I said they have a prime location so you pay for their rent. Coffee is all right, not one of the best ones. The girls that work there put customers in a very uncomfortable spot when they ask about tip!! Are you freaking kidding me?? Tip is a generous virtue that people in US do when you serve. Even before Covid they never brought the coffee to the table.. However before Covid they never asked for tip but they allowed you to tip when you signed in the Ipad or cash. Now except that they have a sign right in front of you that says “Let us know if you want to add tip on the card” ..The girls are like: “Do you wanna leave a tip on the card” For what?? Because I asked: Can I have a cup of coffee please?? Is that the service you performed for me so I can tip you.. and I still do because I’m in the same business but to ask and put the customer in an uncomfortable position It is absolutely unacceptable..
Same time, No cash for payment but if you tip them in Cash it’s okay.. what happened: “No COVID for tips” Give...
Read moreWhile in my previous reviews of certain venues, I have often complained about visual aesthetic and it's ability to fool a person into believing the quality of a food item is actually better than what it truly is, the same can not be said for Kuppi.
While on the outside, as well as inside, it would appear to be your typical abode for the proverbial hipster vagabond or failed poet, Kuppi is a pit stop you'd love to call home. Simply put, it is a gas station for your soul, one that only serves diesel.
The coffee, made of the finest Arabica coffee beans that I've ever had the pleasure of joining as one with my my taste sensory glands, has energized my spirit and rejuvinated my body, much like the waters of the fabled Holy Grail. It is a taste quite unlike that of another famous coffee company, one that robs a man of his very dignity with their different colored cups and their flagrant disregard for American tradtion.
While it may seem pricey to some, the true wanderer will gladly part with their pennies as the aroma and soundscapes of the inner dwellings engulf their senses like the spirits of old.
At Kuppi, you will find everything you were looking for, even if you were unaware of that which you were hoping to find. A cup, a home, and some shelves. Kuppi is king.
TL;DR: This place has some banging ass coffee. Although it's not cheap, you're ultimately paying for the experience of having a nice place that isn't a crappy Starbucks to relax and sip your...
