Nerdy BBQ — Restaurant in Edgewood

First off, let me make this clear. I don't write many reviews and I'm not the biggest barbeque fan. Therefore, it's safe to make the inference that this place must be pretty darn good to inspire me to do 2 things that I don't customarily do.

A friend of mine was bragging about this place and was telling me that I had to try it out. Due to the proximity of where I live, or lack thereof, I've been reluctant to make the drive to try something that I'm not the biggest fan of. So what did my buddy do? He brought the food to my family's house.

I have to tell you, it changed the way I think of barbeque. The pulled pork was moist and tasty and the prime rib was incredible. Both meats were tender and flavorful. I'm of the mindset that a good meat/pork, if made properly, should not require any condiments. I really didn't need the barbeque sauce but my buddy said that I had to try it because all the sauces are made in house. So I tried it and much like the meats, it was AWESOME! I recommend trying the spicy sauce. It's not terribly hot but it adds a touch of heat and a lot of flavor.

All in all, if you're a barbeque fan, you're going to love this place. If Nerdy Barbeque can impress someone like me, who before this experience could take or leave this type of food, then imagine what it would do for someone that really enjoys some good,...

Been there a couple times now, and I absolutely love this place! They have a couple classic Nintendo consoles set up with a variety of games, the Marvel, Star Wars and wrestling merch they have as decor is so cool, very nice employees (shout out to Jack) and where do I even begin with the food?! The first time, I got a pulled pork and brisket platter with baked beans and mac and cheese. Everything was amazing, but the brisket and mac and cheese especially touched my soul! And then today I got a tenderloin with mac and cheese topping and tried the fries. The fries were solid, I'm not normally a fry guy, but the BBQ sauce helped, and they were seasoned well! The tenderloin was amazing, you wouldn't think mac and cheese would be good as a topping, but it hit so different! The tenderloin was slightly gristlely, still very good but keep that in mind. I especially like the fact there are cups and lids for you to get what sauces you want! As someone who mainly gets takeout, that is such a nice feature! If I could leave more than a 5 star review I would for this one. We drove 2 1/2 hours to visit this place and will be back in the very near future. This was by far the best BBQ we've had in the last 8 years and we've had a LOT of BBQ all over the country. The brisket point was definitely our favorite and the star of the show for me. We got brisket, pulled pork, ribs, wings, pork belly, baked beans, slaw, and Mac n cheese and had not a single complaint or critique on anything which is a first for me. Everything was cooked perfectly! Not over seasoned and not over smoked which is my biggest issue with most BBQ restaurants all over. My family and I have visited hundreds of BBQ places all over and never had faster service anywhere. We did end up staying longer than expected but only because we had to keep going back in and ordering food for family and friends to take back home.
