Davanni's Pizza & Hot Hoagies — Restaurant in Edina

Customer for 30 years. Product quality is decreasing and may explain increased discount marketing. Ordered online in advance through an email coupon. Picked up food and ate it there. Safari browsing experience online is inferior to other regional players (e.g. Carbones). National apps/browsers far superior. Of course, actual pizza is junk compared to you and other local/regionals. Poor browsing when selecting special. Ordered 5 meat and removed bacon and hamburger and added onions and green peppers. All right side of pizza. Double checked because kids only wanted cheese. Meat came on one side and veggies on other. Store receipt and email receipt doesn’t delineate left/right and only provides “half” this and half that. So impossible to tell. Entered gift card and credit card and site charged credit card full total and didn’t take off $25 gift card. Nice staff member at restaurant adjusted. Staff provided cheese bread and drinks ahead of pizza so attentive. Restaurant clean and gives off comfort, warmth feel Staff brought pizza to table in box and returned it in pan so we could eat there so thoughtful and attentive Pizza showed up wrong as described above. This is part for the low rating. However, major reason for low rating is the pizza had nothing on it. Cheese not covered end to end with sauce showing and few toppings (traditional crust). Had 3 & 6 year old so wasn’t going to ask for a redo. Plus receipts couldn’t pinpoint source if problem. Eat and run.

Bottom line, I bought 4 gift cards at Costco ($100 for $70 or $75) to Davannis to compound discounts. Used the $3 off $20. And got the free cheese bread. We’re not the value players as it appears usually meaning I hate nationals and am fine spending $60 at Carbones for a couple pizzas and extras. I sat there contemplating just leaving my other (3) $25 gift cards on table and just taking my losses and never coming back.

WORST LOCATION. ORDER ELSEWHERE. I live down the street and I've ordered from here several times. Each time I've been increasingly more disappointed. The last time was THE last time. I'd walked over and ordered in store for takeout. The man at the front told me I couldn't order my pasta the way I was ordering which, btw, is the same way I order online. He proceeded to rering it in differently, charging me more. The pasta: had SO LITTLE sauce there were literally noodles that had nothing on them. There was hardly any spinach as in there were like two leaves of it. Honestly it was like a game of find the ingredients I wanted and it had three. The sandwich: WRONG, so wrong. They put the wrong onions on. Put on tomatoes when it wasn't supposed to have any. I mean did these people even READ the ticket? Take your time, IDC. Just do it RIGHT. The order was ready, I saw it get placed on the shelf and IT SAT THERE and finally we had to ask for it. The guy at the front was not going to give it to us. NO MANAGER RESPONSE! This place lives up to its name not only does it have plenty of Davanni which I love also is marvelously fabulous! I love vanni specials its so many like a train of specials I call the Datranni specials I would ride Da tranni special train every night but I get sore. Da Vanni knows how to make any sausage pretty. I want to stare at it and also stick the whole thing down my throat. Some think the vanni of the place is too much I love the davanni of it all. It is super fabolous sausage fun time!! Never another davanni place like it many other pizza places become consumed by Davanni and that davannishes them. Mamma mia learned that lesson the hard way. Don't mess with davanni. We will not go easy on any mamma especially mia momma. We gave mia momma the stiffest competitoin she had ever taken then could not take any more so we tag teamed her. We finished right on mia momma. Mia Momma I love her she left me satisfied. I stuffed her crust many times. Mia momma I only can have at home now. That is what happens when you do not respect davanni.
