Chaser's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Effingham

first off...They deserve great ratings..I'm a truck driver I was stuck at the Petro truck for a few days so I opted to eat there instead of Ihop.... the food,atmosphere,and service is great... my first day I got the 16oz ribeye, second day I got the walleye dinner both great!!! 3rd day I went for 16oz ribeye again but received a 16oz ny strip... there was only 1 waitress so I didn't want to make a fuss... they had just opened... and I was hungry... I ate the steak and I let the waitress know that I wasn't given a ribeye I was given a strip... she stated she didn't look at it so she wasn't sure.. she went back and asked the cook I believe and she said he said it was a ribeye... I've worked in food service for 20 plus years before I became a truck driver and definitely know the difference... I just think he tried to pass it off because the ribeye costs about 5 dollars more...I feel cheated but lesson learned... next time I'll send it back since they wanna play those type of games...lol that is my only complaint!!! other than that...

Absolutely great food and service. The cheese sticks were amazing. Completely home made. Not the small frozen cheese sticks you get from most places. When they brought out the cheese sticks, I thought it was the fish I ordered they were so big. The walleye was beer battered, delicious, and flaky. The other day, I ordered the New york strip. It came out cooked perfectly, medium rare. It was one of the best steaks I've had in a while. The service was great, friendly, and attentive. I downed my sweet tea. Before I could ask, she brought me another. I was extremely thirsty and downed that one. Without asking, the waitress brought me 2 sweet teas to quinch my thirst. The only possible complaint I could have is the noisy atmosphere, but it is a bar, so you can't really penalize for that. The staff were all friendly and seemed to enjoy being there. A sentiment you don't see in the food industry much anymore. I would highly recommend Chasers to anyone looking for a great bar and grill while in the Effingham Illinois area. You...

Went there on a weekend to have a bite to eat and a few beers and there was only one waitress! And she was also the bartender! She was incredible with her hospitality and was running around that place single-handedly running the show with about 40 people. Because of this I was concerned about the food being fresh and hot but to my surprise the fish was great and fresh and my wife said the same about her food. Very well done! If she is not the manager she should be. Has a hometown bar feel. The people were very nice and there was a mixture of all kinds of folks. Not one that irritated me LOL. I'm easily irritated so it was a great place to have a few beers after a good meal. Obviously highly...
