Greek Chicken — Restaurant in El Cajon

On a Friday night, I made the mistake of choosing this restaurant to treat my family, and it turned out to be quite the disappointment. I ordered a gyros pita--no tomatoes, extra onion, and the meat well done--along with a chicken pita and some zucchini fries.

When I got home and realized they'd messed up my order, I called the restaurant and spoke with Alex. He asked me to send a photo of the food, which I did, and he admitted the order was incorrect. He offered a refund AND a free gyros sandwich replacement. I asked for credit for two sandwiches instead since I paid in cash. He said could refund it to any credit card if I read him the numbers. No one in their right mind would give ANYONE a credit card number over the phone. So I asked him if he could just replace it to two sandwiches to which he agreed and said he wrote it down.

However, when I returned on Sunday to collect my "credit," I was met by Mirna, who told me it was only good for one sandwich. When I asked to speak to Alex, she claimed he was "busy" and wouldn't come out. She insisted she had spoken to him and that the offer was still just for one sandwich. I was lied to. No one needs to deal with this especially After a long day at work.

This place really needs to improve its customer service. I have been trying to contact George for 3 days now only to be met with hesitation, staff behaving like secret service is laughable. Clearly it's not about the money but the principle.

I have to say that I don't quite hesitate when I want to go to places where I get great customer service. Especially if I am trying to treat somebody I connect with to show them something as good as Greek Chicken especially if they have never had there delicious food. I have to admit the food is good. Unfortunately I was a little embarrassed by the staff when they mistook my name as Nate. The order matched up just not the name. Now the gal I was with was super excited because she had never had the pleasure of dining at Greek Chicken. She mentioned Greek food for dinner and the light bulb clicked on. So the name mixup wasn't much of a big deal. When we pulled up to the window, my date was curious if their milkshakes were made from real ice cream or from the same ingredients as McDonald's. The clerk at the window looked at her with an odd sort of expression and was rather rude with her response and seemed irritated when my girl said she wanted to add it to our order. What really got me was when we got back to my place I was really disappointed at the portions of food were uncovered. I paid over $35 for a meal that claimed to feed 2-3 people... In reality it should have stated 1 large or 2 small appetites. I remember Greek Chicken being on the more expensive side but having portions large enough to have second helpings and/or leftovers for the next day. Maybe it was just this location as I had only previously ordered from the location off Bradley and Graves. Needless to say I will not be ordering from that location again.
