Wish I had the receipt to show proof. But I have been coming to this location before it was Manolo's Farmers Market. I've always received great service. No complaints til this past weekend. I had my teen daughter order some tamales for a quick snack while I was shopping. Order came up to around 11 dollars and some change. The clerk at the hot food station charged my daughter 10xs for grocery bags. And gave her no bag. And put 12 in the register and walked off and didn't give her the change. But let me rewind to where my daughter is paying for the food. The clerk had to ask another worker for help. How do you steal money from hardworking customers? And why would you steal from a child? The cashier made excuses sayi g because they wear gloves. Well the problem with that is you have to manually press 12. This worker doesn't know how to count that's obvious. Should not be having people work who can't count 1+1=2. Simple math. But to steal from customers and walk off like oh well. Not okay to take people's hard earned money. Beware and cautious buying your food at the hot station they...
Read moreI only go for the fresh flour tortillas, when ever I'm in the area. As I'm reading other people's reviews I must say..YES some of the cashier's are rude and they all ask out LOUD are you using EBT ? I ONLY WISH I WAS ! BUT IM NOT đ„ I do think it's rude to ask out LOUD to your customer's and I don't care what reason you need to ask the customer IT'S RUDE !!! I used to order food from there but when one of the Cooks finished making my burrito when I was ordering one day I waited until he was finished and told him I did not want it. I asked for his manager and told his manager that he was touching raw chicken and then going back and forth trying to make my burrito without ever changing gloves or wash his hands. I told them I wanted my money back they give it back to me with no problem. But did they fix the problem ? no they did not a week later I encountered the same thing and the same guy I'm surprised he didn't remember me!!!!! so I do not buy food from there at all nothing just flour tortillas if I'm in the area. Other then that I shop in...
Read moreI am deeply frustrated with the prices at Manolo Farmers Market on Main Street in El Cajon. For example, cactus salad costs $8.99 per pound, guacamole with jalapeño is $9.99 per pound, and guacamole sauce (essentially just green tomatoes mixed with guacamole) is also $8.99 per pound.
Additionally, the cooked Mexican rice, which is kept in plastic containers at high temperatures for extended periods, poses a health hazard and is priced at $8.99 per pound. Cooked beans are $9.99 per pound, and 32 ounces of Tamarindo waterâjust water with some tamarind pulpâcosts $7.99. Even cut coconuts are $7.99 per pound.
It's disheartening to see such inflated prices, especially when there are many people in the community, including homeless individuals, struggling to find food. I believe these prices should be investigated, as they seem exploitative and disconnected from the community's needs.
I hope the authorities take a closer look at this market, as the current situation is...
