I love everything about this place. The doughnuts and pastries are obviously fantastic but they also make great burgers, fries and sandwiches as well. It's not high end (overpriced) gourmet food; but it is hot, fresh and inexpensive. The service is great as well - they (apparent owners) are very grateful and appreciative of your business. They bring your food out to you on an actual cermic plate which is a nice touch. I love the old school "we haven't redecorated since... forever " decor & look and feel of the place. It's like a time capsle when you walk in and not in a cheesy / touristy Johnny Rockets kind of way but in an authentic "1975 truck stop snack bar" kinda way. It looks like Snowman, Bandit, and Sherrif Buford T. Justice might just walk in any second. When you go remember, they only take cash (I understand and respect that). They do have an "off brand" ATM on site of you wanna pay the fees. But, just be smart and bring cash. Also, there's no WiFi so for all you 20-ish militant left wing hippies who wear your $200 sandals, drink $8 per cup coffees and check your $700 iPhones while blogging on your $2000 MAC Book Pro about the "evils of American capitalism", this aint your kinda crowd. There is no Jay Z, One Direction or Beyonce music blasting out of speakers either. Folks who eat here actually wanna sit accross from each other and have a actual face to face conversation and just enjoy some...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is a solid choice if you want a decent donut and a decent cup of coffee. It says this place is open at 6:30 AM and I would expect they would be ready for business by then. We walked in close to 7:30 AM and their grill was still not yet ready to make breakfast sandwiches. We also wanted a couple bars, but they were still making them. I could give a pass with this, since it seems like there was only a few people working behind the counter. Hopefully the grill is fired up next time I visit so I could edit my review and give it a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe best doughnuts around made and served by the BEST people. So kind and friendly. Had to edit because I forgot to mention their food options. The hot dogs are massive and delicious. They slice them and grill them so eat bite has a crisp crunch to it. On any other hot dog I just get mustard but here at Johnny's, I get the works- mustard, ketchup, relish, tomato, lettuce, and onion (although I omit the onion). On a sesame bun. Heaven. So good. The fries portion is huge too. So much bang for your buck. Can't...
