Cerrito Vista Park — Attraction in El Cerrito

A large grassy area which is frequented by local sport teams from Soccer to Baseball.

This is another area that is great for those that need a large track to walk/run on.

The bathroom is well maintained but be aware that you will need to purchase a key from the EC Community Center for $20. Last I've heard, they will return the $20 if you like to return the key. I'm guessing this is to discourage the migrating homeless population from using these spacious stalls as a makeshift sleeping area.

As for regular populations that frequent it, there are a few but it's usually only crowded during Saturday which most events take place. During the school year, students from Prospect Sierra will run around the track. During the summer, this is the grounds for the Sports camp.

There are also 4th of July events and Walk for Cancer fundraising that happens...

Very nice open patkl with lots of space for any activity. This is where the city of El Cerrito hosts the 4th of July World One festival. Cerrito Vista Park has a small playground where kids can play, a tennis court and a picnic area with volleyball court and open space for other activities. There is direct access to the picnic area, which has a BBQ grill for cooking, from the playing field below.

July 4th 2025 update: City of El Cerrito 4th of July celebration was awesome and filled with energy and festivities. Wish there was more food trucks. Lines for food was pretty long. More exhibitors would have been nice, like more car manufacturers. This year there was only Honda. Wish there was electric vehicles there...

I went there to spend time with my nieces who are 12 and 3 years old. We spent most of the time inside the gated playground that is secluded near the back of the park, away from the busy Moeser Lane, where cars tend to go fast because of steep and wide road.
