Humberto’s Mexican Food — Restaurant in El Monte

First the food. Food is homstyle Mexican American dishes. Fair prices with very generous servings. Ordered an asada plate with a giant flour tortilla to accompany it. Food is delicious and fillling. Meat is the name of the game ,lots of it, with lots of tasty flavor. Guacamole on point, salsas were great,grilled onions and some cheese. Burrito was massive and freaking great. Big ole horchata to go with everything. Now the reason I gave this place 5 stars when I wanted to give it 6 if not more. Beto the young Latino gentleman that took care of me and my family when visiting his establishment, felt like I was visiting his home and I was his very welcomed guest of honor. The guy is a humble sweetheart and is very honest. The man looks at you in your eyes and is very engaged in making sure u get exactly what u r craving. Honestly the service alone would make me come back this ,they honestly could be selling dirt and I'd be happy to come buy if from here because of the quality of character this place has. I know this all sounds excessive but these things are honestly what allot of new joints are lacking.....the love. Tortillas are old & stale & stick to the wrappers & are store bought, not homemade Food is expensive & not worth price for the ingredients are cheap, far cheaper than other places who offer the same thing & who offer better service & food for cheaper prices The service is terrible & the place reeks of urine The restrooms are small & outside & not kept Their french fries are worse quality than McDonalds, they are string fries that are fried at uneven temps, leaving the end result either too cold or overly cooked & hard & these fries are all mixed up & served to their customers It would be better to go somewhere else & even get appreciated more, the lady that works here would rather spend money to get her nails done than buy the correct kind of food that a place like this...

Don’t come here unless you like your food to have objects in it as well as being judged. This place needs to be shut down for how rude and unsanitary they are. I came here with my girlfriend and treated us terribly. They must be homophonic because all we were getting was ugly looks by the workers. I also found a piece of metal in my burger and my girlfriends fries had a weird shaped object in them. It almost looked like a cockroach was cooked with the fires. They didn’t even want to replace it. All the old man said was that it wasn’t his fault and it’s not his problem. My family use to come to this place a lot when I was younger but now I’m never coming back due to their lack of respect for their costumers. If I could I would give this place no stars. It needs to...
