Playas De Nayarit — Restaurant in El Monte

OMG! The food here is so delicious! I have been to many Mexican seafood restaurants and this is by far the best tasting. This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall mom n pops place, but DO NOT let that fool you! I am sometimes reluctant to go to these types of places because i feel the food and service will not be good. This place is different!!!! We had a little boat plate filled with fish ceviche to start off. Amazing! The flavors made my mouth water at every bite. The fish was fresh, you can taste it! Next, I shared a Mojarra Sarandeada which is a butterflied grilled Tilapia fish plate. Absolutely tasty! Again, the fish tasted very fresh and was cooked just right! It was bursting with flavor and they give you various types of hot sauces and salsas. It comes with rice and beans, which where also some of the best tasting i have ever had. The service was pretty good, we were taken care of immediately and the waitresses were kind. Pricing is absolutely perfect due to the quality of the food. I highly recommend this place to any person that likes seafood. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Parking is sometimes an issue since they get busy at times, but they do have parking in the rear of the business (enter through the side driveway). Overall an 11 out of 10. Heads up on the parking lot...it's very tiny. If you can get parking on the street, do so. We sat inside & were greeted within about 2 minutes with a menu, chips & salsa. The waitress took our orders quickly too. A little note: she never offered to refill the chips or salsa when we devoured them. We weren't big fans of the salsa, but my bf still ate it all. I just used the tapatio that was on the table & some lime on my chips. I ordered the cheese enchiladas plate which comes with beans, rice & a little side salad. That was very delicious. My boyfriend got shrimp tacos & oysters. He loved the tacos, but was not impressed with the oysters. As for the drinks, I ordered an agua de pepino (a cucumber juice) & my bf got a pacifico michelada. My juice was SO GOOD! I usually steer clear of juices because of the sugar content & sweetness. I don't think I will ever dine in. But I will pick up if i order. Place is run down I order to go server describe the menue items really well. Thats why i gave it 3. my order took about 30 min sadly I order shrimp tacos dorados, shrimp ceviche and aguachiles tacos are good and shrimp ceviche is fresh. I love Aguachiles but this aguachiles had no salt. And the green salsa they gave me was not your typical aguachiles salsa more like salsa you put on your street tacos.
