Superior Grocers — Local services in El Monte

Customer service there is really bad. Please becareful when shopping there. They dont take kindly to people of color. You get the awkward stares. No hello or greetings. Security follows you in every isle. When upon checking out . They dont even give you a bag for groceries in i caught the bus. When I asked for a bag they told me I had to pay 15 cents. I told them I paid with ebt. They stalled in trying to give me a bag but gave it anyways wich was weird . But please becareful coming here . It may look nice . But the people are a very funny style . My family usually goes to the Food4Less that's closer home, but today we decided to go here. There's a restaurant where you can order food which is a nice gimmick this place has. However I found them to be lacking in variety in everything other than vegetables and meat. There's only one frozen idle for ice cream and novelties which is a key down, but they do have another section near the meat section for burger meat, etc. The main problem I had was that the aisles are too narrow. Whenever I wanted to go down an aisle I couldn't if there was someone else there because we both didn't fit. Also, they do have quite a few options for...

Not gonna lie, I do like this place (especially because it's basically down the street from my home and so convenient) buuuut personally I recommend buying mainly items that are packaged/sealed. I went grocery shopping here with my partner and we unfortunately saw a roach having a grand time inside the piles of loose pinto beans lol. Of course we let a worker know discreetly and he took care of it asap, but even he seemed a little surprise about it 😅😅 But other than that.. yeah I just buy stuff that comes sealed and maybe just wash your fruits & veggies well.
