Cocteles Mazatlan Restaurant El Paso — Restaurant in El Paso

This place is disgusting and has rude/disrespectful staff. Did I mention the fish has bugs? Here are two separate experiences from this place.

1. Someone needs to call the city to get this place checked out by a health inspector. My aunt went recently with her daughter and there was dead flies inside her fish. Yes, you read that right, dead flies INSIDE the fish. The server said they’d make her another plate to which my aunt said no because why would she want to eat the fish there if there’s bugs in it. Staff refused to give a refund and a supervisor was called over and stated they’d make her a plate anyways because they were going to charge her for her plate. My cousin (her daughter) said understand that we are not even going to eat that plate either so just give the refund. Supervisor said they’d have to call the police and my cousin said go ahead. Police was not called and she was not charged for the plate, but the supervisor rudely said that they would not serve them again in the future. Lol, who would want to eat bug infested fish from there anyways?

2. (took place before the first story) When I had gone with my mother it took them 20 minutes to seat us, 15 minutes for a waitress to come and take our order and then get this; 40 minutes passed and our waitress disappeared. She was called over and said the order was right about to be put in. At this point my mother and I said “oh no, and wait even more time?” We got up and left. 1 hr and 15 min here and we left with no food and poor service. This place is understaffed for a reason…. Beware and check your plate...

I'm not going to lie food was really good. Service was really poor. I went with my mom, twin,nephews, niece, brother in law and daughter they had inappropriate music on for a restaurant, and was really loud. I had to request for that music to be taken off which they did after 5 minutes passed. Server asked, "if we needed anything else" after last plate was taken to the table, and I asked for a spoon which she never brought. Waitress passed me twice never brought spoon to me. I had to ask another server to please bring me a spoon and cilantro. Also, the waitress that gave us service was sitting with another customer talking and laughing instead of checking on our table. I spoke to the aunt of the owner about the situation she did apologize but it isn't the first time something like this occurs to my family. She said that she let customers request or put on music in this establishment and that isn't right. This place isn't a bar to ask or let customers put on music. I loved the food but I'm sure it will be the last Time I go there. I really felt offended by the music they had on. They need to better their service and play decent and appropriate music that is suitable not only for a business but also for a family environment. I hope no one ever experiences what I experienced. Food 3/5 gave the whole family poisoning. Different dishes but hiegene 0/0 Service 1/5: horrible. Asked for tables for a big but reasonable party an hour in advanced; gave us half the tables and they said they were going to add another but never did. I guess they wanted more money for tips and decided to give us the high tables even when we said we had babies. Didn't accommodate for us for nothing. The servers were rude to us and wouldn't clear our two tables which were crowded because they never actually seated us in normal tables. They charged us 50+ in tip automatically but should've been a 20 tip for the service tbh. I'm not picky really but this service was not acceptable. Atmosphere: 2/5 very loud place, could even talk to the person across me. If you want good service and good flavor mariscos go to los colegas. We ended up paying around 100 per person when in colegas the same dish with better flavor and way better service it's way cheaper. We came here because it was recommended in Google. Dont trust bots guys. Be safe out there. Companies be hiring people and telling their own co workers to put big stars just to people to come. I don't recommend people to this...
