Sun City Birria — Restaurant in El Paso

I had been very excited to try out this place since it opened because I used to love the restaurant that was here before. I actually went last week but arrived right before closing, so I couldn’t place an order. Yesterday, I decided to try again and ordered online.

When I got there, I waited in the drive-thru for about five minutes — nothing. A lady with glasses saw me twice and never acknowledged me at the window. I ended up parking and going inside. I greeted both the lady and a gentleman who were sitting down and let them know I was there for an online order. Neither of them looked at me; they just pointed toward a bookshelf for me to grab my food.

I was craving these tacos so much that I sat in my car to eat right away, but unfortunately, they were disappointing. The tacos had very minimal filling and were soft and almost soggy from the steam in the packaging. I also ordered a side of frijoles puercos, which were watered down and had no flavor. The salsas were decent, but also a bit watery.

if i could give zero i would. the food might be decent but the real problem is erick, the so-called owner. dude has the biggest attitude for someone running a birria spot that’s mid at best. he acts like he’s doing you a favor by taking your order, rolls his eyes, talks over people, and literally argues with customers instead of fixing the issue. i’ve never seen someone so unprofessional while bragging about “his business.” newsflash erick—good customer service is part of running a business, not optional. i don’t care how good the tacos are, i’ll never come back to a place where the owner’s ego is bigger...

this place had me questioning my life choices. the birria was greasy, the tacos fell apart, and the consomé tasted like straight dishwater. the staff looked lost, the music was louder than the flavor, and it took 30 minutes just to get our food when it wasn’t even busy. the owner was walking around trying to look important but didn’t actually fix anything. save your money and go literally anywhere else — taco bell...
