Driving through we looked for a restaurant that was quick off the highway. Called ahead and ordered Gyros to go. We stopped to pick them up and decided to eat there instead. Gyros would have been messy in the vehicle. We made the right decision! Amanda was our server and extremely accommodating when we said we wanted to change our order to eat inside. They only had the soup prepared so it wasn’t a problem at all. Our meal came with the Gyro on Pita with a potato and other side. It was a lot of food for the cost. We asked for the pita to be grilled crispy and it was done the most perfect we’ve ever had. The gyro meat was cut in smaller pieces instead of long slices but it made the food much easier to eat. We each at cream of potato soup. We had fruit and onion rings as a side. It was a large portion of onion rings. This place is worth the stop! We didn’t have the buffet but took pics of it. The salad bar looked great too. Next time!! The staff were all so friendly. You won’t be disappointed stopping here. The prices are extremely reasonable. Portions huge.

The food was good, but my family and I were not served by the waitresses, most likely due to their personal biases because I wear hijab (Islamic headscarf). Once seated, we were never greeted by a waitress( though the table in front and behind us were). We had to flag down a waitress to ask for a soda (which she delivered with a look of rage on her face, maybe my toddler offended her? Lol) she didn’t ask if we wanted anything else. She never came to check on us or collect our dirty plates from the buffet. The manager did check on us a couple of times, but didn’t address the obvious discrimination with the waitress while we were there. Wanted to support a local business but looks like this restaurant is stuck in the 1900s. Hope they can join the 21st century soon where a paying customer is a paying customer.

Woody's is about midway on a long trip I occasionally take. I now spend the night here in El Paso just to dine here for dinner and then breakfast before hitting the road. Very good food, generous portions, excellent salad bar included with many of their entrees. I especially love their cod, grilled to perfection! Also includes soup, potato, and a hot veggie, all delicious. Won't leave here hungry! Full menu available from open to close. Wait staff are friendly and personable. A lot of the locals dine here. Added note: Directly across from EconoLodge, great value for clean and well maintained rooms with very comfortable beds and plenty of desk and table space, microwave and fridge.

These people are Shameless in serving up overcooked soggy vegatables, bread pudding that is dry as a lufa sponge, coffee that smells like the smolderings of a house fire, and a dinner menu offereing odd misfits of dinner plates. The stir fry was half filled with the most overcooked broccoli which had ruined the tastes of all the other ingredients of which rice was the only asian ingredient. Should have been called shrimp stew on bed of rice. Best to stick to the soup of the day and theyre salad bar. Go heavy on the salad bar's shrimp. We may have done better to have ordered breakfast for dinner. Is it peach or pear cobbler? Never saw brown peaches before. Apple crisp? Not sure. The taste was ruined by the raisons and an unidentified white film on top. The bread pudding dry enough to dip in coffee perhaps but in no way should ever be referred to as a pudding. Maybe it should have been plated individually wrapped servings with the other unidentifiable brown deserts. The server was delightful and took great care of us, but the cooks, the dessert cart arranger and the person making decisions on the menu and specials are apparently not familiar with what's considered acceptable here in America. The atmosphere is very nice and the seating is very comfy Breakfast may be better but I'll never find out because I won't be back unless they're the only restaurant open during the next...

I was really surprised. Somewhat older type restaurant where you'd expect surprises....but they were great surprises. Had the Gyro Pita and fries. Good meal, fries cooked and crispy. Excellent salad bar, very well stocked. The breakfast bacon and pancakes are excellent. They have that fluffly funnel cake flavor. I will definitely make my meal stops here when traveling through. Good meals, quick service, and excellent prices. UPDATE: 1 OCTOBER 2021. Stopped in again for dinner. Again, an excellent meal at very reasonable prices. Had the buffet of shrimp, walleye, mac and cheese and crab legs. Also comes with the salad bar. All for under $14 dollars. Just found out that there are two different Woodys. This one is located in El Paso just North of Bloomington Normal. UPDATE: 27 MAY 2022. Stopped in again for dinner meal. Had the buffet. Salad bar excellent. Great variety of addons. Main meal was chicken, fish and crab legs. Cat fish was good as well as the sides....the crab legs were terrible. Cooked too long, absolutely no taste, not saltiness, just tasteless meat. Other than that, the dessert was good. Service was great. Had to down grade by one star for the one item...they were that bad. I did notify mmanagement. Hopefully, just a one time issue. However, I will still definitely eat there while...
