Pecina's Mexican Cafe - El Reno Location — Restaurant in El Reno

First time coming to this place and it was honestly one of the best Mexican diners I have been too. Starting with the chips and salsa/ queso, the chips were not oily and had the perfect crunch. The salsa was milder than I prefer but had a great flavor, and the queso (both of them) were on point. I learned about the hotter salsa afterword's. You could tell the tortillas were made fresh, they were amazing.

On to the main courses, my daughters chicken bites, were some of the best looking chicken bites I have seen, the chicken was juicy and not over cooked. The fries had a nice crunch to them. My wife had a taco salad, I have never seen her eat a taco salad that fast, I am sure she loved it. My carne asada was exactly what I wanted. So much flavor in each bite, and they don't have only refried beans, I love steamed beans.

Lastly, lets talk about service, it was excellent, everyone was super friendly. They move quick and make sure your drink stays full, the food comes out quickly, and I watched some people come in right before closing time, They were just as nice to them as everyone else, and that's something you don't see in many places.

For first impressions, I had an excellent experience, and I WILL be back. If I had to say there were any cons to this place though? Its tiny, you may have a hard time fitting a large group in there, but I am sure they could...

Well, if you want to pay waaaayyy to much for vegetarian food AND get a waitress with a TERRIBLE attitude then please come to Pecina's in El Reno where a side of beans and rice is a whopping $8! Then order the small guacamole salad for another $8. That's $16 just for 1 person!! Wow!! Their rice isn't even as good as Taco Bell for crying out loud! Oh, did I mention our waitress? She'll be the one with the constant scowl on her face and ignore you when you try to get her attention. Oops, you might get confused because I think all the ladies had that look.... :-\ She also made sure that everyone else at the table gets their food BEFORE me even though EVERYTHING I ordered was already ready! Then she'll make sure that it doesn't even come out all at the same time. Really? Jeez!! It almost seems like they don't like vegetarians?? To the public - never pour your bad day on others ESPECIALLY when you're at work!! Pecina's I give you 1 star only because your salsa is bomb. However, don't let it go to your head and start overcharging on that too!! Plus, not that you care, but you've lost this family as customers. :( Sux cuz ur local, but I'm not dealing with your terrible wait staff attitudes again. That's a 100% deal breaker for me. One of the worst steak nachos I have ever ate. $12 I spent on steak nachos and only got running cheese with vegetables and maybe 4oz of over cook meat that wasn't steak. I find it hilarious how people give it 4 stars. I'm from out of town, the only reason I went is due to the four stars it has received. It was horrible and overpriced and it's not a Mexican Cafe more like Tex-Mex don't waste your time. If they can get a steak nachos right what makes you think they're going to get any other food right. Ha $12 for steak nachos I'd rather waste my money on Taco Bell or the convenience store. More like crap nachos. I do not mind spending money on good food but when you sell steak nachos I expect steak nachos, not crack nachos. I would never eat there again next time I will just stop at a convenience store that is closer in my route then go out of my way 12 minutes to receive...
