Blaney's Wings & Grill — Restaurant in Elgin

First off let me say this place has hands down the best wings, flavors, and dips of any spot big or small including carolina wings, and schooners, with a possible tie to wingstop arguably. The teri-hot flavor is my second favorite, and the hot is the very best. Just hot enough to break a sweat on my forehead, but making me want more and more and for it to never stop. Speaking of dips, I do believe their ranch is made in house. It dosen't taste like hidden valley or any other bottled ranch. I'm most confident that the bleu cheese is made in house. I am 37 years old and have been a fan of bleu cheese since I was 18. That's probably the best bleu cheese I've ever put in my mouth. Big chunks of bleu cheese crumbles in it, delicious creamy dressing. Hands down the best ever. Gives wingstop ranch a run for their money. Raw fries are excellent, the french fries are perfection. I swear they are handmade like at 5 guys, I'd bet my paycheck on it cause that's how it tastes. Burger? Phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. I hate having to decide whether to order the burger or wings, a couple times when I have extra money in my pocket, I will order both. Wife says they have a good sweet tea too. To go service is always fantastic as well. They will give me a time and I may be a few minutes early or late from the time they say it will be ready, and the food is still waiting on the counter for me fresh and hot which is how to go service should work. All I have to do is give my name and give them a card and I'm on my way. I am greeted by the bartender nicely, and if they are busy, I get a quick response from a server lady asking if I've been helped. Almost chick fil a levels of service to be honest. TV's line the walls for big games. This is my new go to honestly. I'd rather drive 8 mins down the road and grab wings or a burger, than 30 mins to wingstop or red robin. We go to Blaneys all the time but I had to update my review from 5 starts to 3 from last time. Everything started off well but after we got our food our waitress pretty much disappeared. I think it was because she was the only one and it started to get busy, but she only came back to check on us one time and then my daughter ordered a dessert. We waited half an hour after we ordered it(and im not exaggerating I checked the time because we were already there forever and were wanting to leave soon) I finally had to go up to the bar and ask them to take off the dessert because our waitress was nowhere to be found and we just wanted to leave. We are not the kind of people to leave without paying but we seriously considered just getting up and leaving. As we were all standing up our waitress finally came out with the dessert and we told her to just take it back that we already paid and just wanted to leave. She apologized and said they ran out of brownies so they had to make more. She didn't think to come let us know at all the whole time we were waiting and never came back to update us that it would be longer. It's unfortunate we will probably not be back for a while. We will go back eventually but we will wait a while to see if they can hire more staff or train the one that...

Was able to get seated with no problem. Well we found out why. We got our order in after only sitting for a few minutes. Great! Then the wait. 1 hour and still no food. ToGo orders were flying out the door. Table across the room was seated before we got there. They still had no food. Finally they get food after we had been there for 50 minutes and their food was wrong. They just left after the server said it was her fault. Sat for another 15 min. Asked our server how much longer on our food. "Just a few minutes, its almost done" 10 more minutes, food comes out, my food is wrong. Ordered teriyaki wings and tenders, got calabash shrimp and tenders with teriyaki dipping sauce. Shrimp had no taste, tenders had no flavor. I can only assume I was given cocktail sauce for the shrimp but it didnt look right and I didnt even try. Let the server know about the mix up. "Well, I can change it out but I cant tell you that it will be quick" Im starving and tell her I will eat it. I just couldnt eat it. Kids ate my raw fries.
