Lina's Filipino Marketplace — Restaurant in Elgin

First time coming here, we live 40 minutes away but wanted to see what they offer since my friends told me the food is good. It is true however, the elder woman at the counter and who serves the food has an attitude and sarcastic. We bought groceries and decided to stay awhile for the halo-halo. I tried one vegetable lumpia because I wanted to taste it. I could see that her face was a bit disappointed, maybe because I only bought one and it wasn't worth her effort. Then, I decided to buy the Tortang dulong to bring home, and she made a face, rolled her eyes, and sighed, saying, "Isa lang? Meron pa ba?!" I was shocked by her response,she thought i was only getting one again. I was even calling her Nanay and was being polite. When she realized I saw her roll her eyes and bought more, her demeanor changed. Also overheared her being sarcastic to other customer. It wasn't a good experience and not worth the drive.I understand she might be tired because it was 5pm already but that’s not how you treat customers, its gonna be bad for the business. Won’t be ordering food here anymore and won’t be coming back....

Visited the store today to look for pineapple juice (they have it sometimes) so I asked one of the staff if they have it today and she asked me back “do we even have that here??” So i said that’s okay po. Then I continued to check the food section (I never asked for any assistance just yet) and decided to leave and she asked me again “are you buying anything?” i said no. She said “then, why did I even call them to help you? I shouldnt have asked them” then I was just quiet cause my pregnant belly doesnt have time to argue lol. I left and got into my car and saw her rolled her eyes on me??

I just dont think the store should bother hiring people like her. She’s old enough to know how to be respectful and polite to people that’s 45 years...

Lina's Restaurant offers great food. I’ve been a customer since this place started, and I am pleased with their authentic cuisine and good service. The food is prepared with good ingredients made it taste good that gives flavors of traditional recipes that are sure to delight your taste buds.
