Carvel — Restaurant in Elizabeth

I went to carvel just the other day to get the fudge brownie dasher sundae. Little did i know, that when i called earlier that day to find out the hours THEY WOULD LIE. I drove there and used a lot of gas (which is expensive these days) and parked my car right outside the carvel store. Let me mention that it was 10 30 pm. they had told me they closed at 11. the lights were on and the open sign was illuminated. I then proceeded to try and open the door, but alas, it was locked. I was absolutely devastated. From the window i could see the young lady behind the counter just looking at me. I motioned with my hands as if to say, "are you open?". She looked at me with a cold (stone, they deserve all of our business!) stare and said no. This situation left me crying on the streets of elizabeth, leaving my friend (bless her soul) who does NOT have auto insurance, to drive me to the 24 hr shoprite to buy store bought ice cream (YUCK). I think everyone reading this can understand my negative review. And i still havnt gotten my fudge brownie dasher sundae. I dont believe...

Ice cream was good but the manager doesn’t know their promotions. It was a sign that said 85¢ cone or cups today. The large print on the sign said “85 ¢ junior soft serve cone” I asked for a cup and was told they couldn’t do it. Had to literally teach her how to read fine print to see that it did in fact say junior cone or cup. This was 1 hour before closing, I can’t even imagine how many people they told weren’t allowed to have a cup as opposed to a cone on a 78 degree day with an 85¢ promotion. Only gave it 2 stars because the workers seemed to like that their manager was put in her place by me simply reading the sign to her otherwise it would be 1. 😜

Carvel in Elizabeth on Elmora Ave was absolutely disgusting!!! I ordered a Sundae Dasher, Carvalanche, and 2 soft serve cones. Both soft serves melted before i opened the door to leave, and the dasher and carvalanche was missing the toppings I requested. The icecream tasted funny as if it wasn't real icecream and was replaced with something else. It lacked the thickness of real icecream and the taste was way off. Due to the recent events of crazy people licking and tampering with icecream, I couldn't help but wonder if something happened to mine. I usually go to Carvel in Avenel and they are deliciously amazing EVERY SINGLE TIME. I will NEVER return...
