Everyone’s prices are going up But at least it’s modern enough for the price it commands or close enough Ají is ok, as opposed to vinaigrette versions used in some other restaurants True authentic versions can’t exactly exist here; North America, because plant laws or habitation stuff, but it’s still good But I don’t understand why some people visiting feel the need to call it inauthentic, when they clearly know, as does everyone, why it’s a certain way. Whether it’s closer to one version or another, up to customer’s taste really, but personally I still like all versions But open source wise it’s not hard to have a basic version, just purée spicy, salt, and fat. I won’t elaborate more, as it’s a business, but just basic gastronomy. Play around in your kitchen people, remember I still like all the restaurants, and how they each do their own thing Salad perhaps request dressing on the side Park a block or 2 away, as parking is probably always full Not the easiest place to get to when in Elizabeth But it’s either Elizabeth or Paterson, maybe Passaic if you want this tier; S. At least in New Jersey NY is it’s own thing, and other businesses in other states have their own issues, but compared to how they used to be, they’ve definitely gotten better Others are another tier, because of x y and z, but occasionally still good But comes down to movement, and...
Read moreThis is by far the worst customer service experience that I have experienced at a restaurant. Walked into the restaurant with my family on a busy day and signed in my name on the sign in sheet but no one mentioned that there was anything about putting my phone number down on no sheet whatsoever they also failed to mention that I was to wait outside families started to get sitted down before me and I noticed that people kept being moved from their seats as if they were playing musical chairs three families must have been moved from their original tables to other tables before I decided to say something then I took the sign in book and noticed they skipped my family and gave the table to someone else before us then they moved someone that was already seated down to another table that was supposed to go for us as well. Long story short this place doesn’t believe in good customer service and they can care less if you are pregnant and waiting . I also want to add that all the waitresses got defensive and started being loud when we said something. Do not come here...
Read moreWent here with the family on a Saturday evening. I ordered the arroz chaufa con mariscos. Once I put the aji on it, the plate was bangin' and delicious. I ordered the chicha and was disappointed that it was bottled. Only bottled drinks.
Now, the bad. My wife, daughter, sister in law and god daughter ordered pollo a la brasa. The chicken came out first and looked great, but was too red on the inside. Sent it back and took well over 20 minutes for it too come back and it was still red on the inside. The meal could have been saved, but the underwhelming service only became more dismal.
Lastly, besides all that we ordered there was an additional $5.00 charge listed as "service". It was vaguely explained and in no way seemed justified.
Desserts looked too intense, but some seemed pretty large. Due to the bad experience we passed on them.
The place is small and was crowded while we were there minus for about a 7...
