Port Deli & Grill — Restaurant in Elizabeth

I came to Del Porto this past Thursday with my employers and co-workers. We celebrated Christmas together over a delicious meal. Our server was Justin and he was attentive to every need and request given. I appreciated the meat free items on the menu. There was a good assortment for vegetarians and meat eaters. The appetizers like zucchini chips were light and crisp. The fresh cheeses, breads, herbed dipping oils were just the starter! I had the spinach ravioli that turned out to be very light and satisfying. That is what makes the food so good. You can eat your entire serving and feel satsified but not heavy. The desserts are also very good. The creme brulee I had was creamy and not too sweet. We all enjoyed the conversation and the food. I personally recommend this restaurant for groups or going with a friend...

Food is Great! Service is ok depending on the wait staff. Owners are always there but fail to ever acknowledged their customers. There prices are competitive but they will charge you for everything possible. The owner is rather happy to hit you with a credit card surcharge although it is illegal to do so in the state of NJ hence there is no written information for such but they will verbally inform you of such. If at the dinning room, don't dare ask for extra bread without expecting to pay additional for it. The bread service by the way is just a tease on their part, and God forbid that you'll need a doggy bag as you will also pay for that. Parking is probably their biggest downfall though, you'll be lucky to find street parking hence not a place to meet family and friends. Excellent...

Awful communication from the counter girl and female manager at this location.

They refused to admit they messed up on sending the wrong soup. They gave me the run around and blamed their system erased my order. My question was "Then how'd you even place it or know where to send it?" They refereed to me as sweety and hunny and overall hung up on me.

10 minutes later they sent me someone else's order called my cell phone barking at me that the delivery guy was outside with my order. They repeated back the address which was suppose to go to 2nd St and I'm in Elmora!

Place is poorly staffed and has no respect for their customers.
