Absolutely delicious Peruvian food and very friendly and attentive service! I went here for dinner with a friend. I was initially somewhat disappointed when I found out they didn’t serve pisco or any alcohol because I was under the impression they were a pisco bar. They used to be years ago but aren’t anymore. But their food is amazing so it’s fine. We were served fresh bread and a trio of spicy sauces after we sat down, Chimichurri, rocoto Cream, and a non creamy rocoto sauce. The rocoto cream was my favorite. We ordered a pitcher or chicha morada and the Leche de Tigre to start and it was delicious and really packed a punch like it is supposed to. The syrupy sweet potato served with it really helped to balance out the lime. We ordered the Parrillada for two with white rice and fried yucca. Everything was cooked perfectly. The anticuchos and skirt steak was my favorite meats. It all goes great with the starchy grilled Peruvian potato and choclo corn. There was so much food we took some home. We ordered the Picarones for dessert. They came out hot and crispy soaked in a sweet syrup. They are likely spiced and I highly recommend saving room for dessert. I also bought a box of alfajores to take home....
Read moreWas really disappointed. Came in with high hopes based on reviews but just can't say much good, which I honestly tried finding positive feedback. Hard to find street parking depending when you go. Service was very slow, couldn't get the attention of the waitress most of the time. They really needed one more server at the least. Food came out almost an 1 hour and 15 min later after sitting (mind you that place isn't that big and wasn't super busy). Food was incredibly disappointing. I order Lomo Saltado and the meet was over cooked, no juicyness likes its supposed to have. It tasted like all the ingredients were thrown in a pan without any seasoning. My mother ordered bistek Ala pobre which she asked for medium. It came out burnt and basically unedieble and if we wanted to change out the plate it could have taken forever so we just shared our food. The only thing that was done ok was the Picarones. Can't say I'll be going back there when there is a ton of better Hispanic and peruvian places in the area. I feel like some of the reviews can't possibly be true or maybe it was a different time. I wish I could have said...
Read moreI’m reading other reviews; besides that one with the beef picture (idk WTH that is) they all essentially say that the food is ok and that it’s pricey.
I’ve been here more than 10 times total in my life. Not that many times, but I’ve had food from here during different years of my life. I live around the area. One thing I will tell you is that this place has been consistent with their flavor since day 1. Prices are DEFINITELY cheaper than what you get at the other restaurants closer to downtown.
I’ve never eaten inside the place. I always take my food to go. And the food is always perfect even after me having to go back to my car and drive home.
I understand why they take a bit long. The different seafood are cooked separately and that not only ads texture and retains flavor, it’s time consuming. Mind you. This is after I already drove home and sat down to eat.
Not every place has to cater to everyone.but I do believe this place is always giving it its 100%. I’ve never been disappointed here. In the many years I’ve been coming to pick up food. This review is very, very...
