Taco Town Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Elk Grove Township

Not sure what all the hype is about. We like to support local businesses. The website says Authentic Mexican Cuisine. How does an Authentic Mexican Cuisine use American mozzarella cheese and get away with it? I placed an order for tostadas, tacos, and a burrito for my family. When I asked for cheese they said sure. I asked the order taker what kind of Mexican cheese do you have, she answered we don’t have Mexican cheese. Plain American Mozzarella is what we use. I asked no Mexican cheeses? The order taker said we don’t have any types of Mexican cheeses. You can understand why I would be confused and upset right? What Authentic Mexican taco or restaurant offers American cheeses? How disappointed I was. The order taker said she would inform the manager. I still have the benefit of the doubt and decided to still support. When we are the food the burrito was small, the tacos were less than average and the tostada used was not even an authentic tostada shell! It is embarrassing to call it authentic Mexican. No Mexican will call it authentic. I will not support...

I walked in and was literally the only person there. It still took the cashier about 10 minutes to take my order.

The taste of the food was just okay. Nothing that would make me want to come back. I dined in and didn't get any napkins with my food, and there were no napkin dispenser around.

No one asked if everything was good/to my liking. The whole experience had a very "get in, get out" vibe to it. For the price (~$20 for 3 tacos, a very small portion of rice & beans, and a can of coke) I would have like to at least tasted great food. Even if the service wasn't great.

I think the owners just slapped some paint on the walls, hired some Mexican people, pay them low wages, so they put out mediocre work, and they hope it makes them rich.

As a Mexican man myself, I know authentic Mexican food/hospitality. This place really has no soul or identity. Unfortunately, I've seen this far too many times. Ultimately, I would say save your money. Go somewhere else. Or be...

Don’t order from this place. The food is super bland and portions are small. Was looking for a good taco place near us and this place had good reviews. Decided to give it a try and was extremely disappointed. Ordered a steak burrito and my spouse ordered a steak taco meal with beans and rice. We also ordered chile relleno tacos to try them out. The order arrived with no salsa at all. When my spouse opened her taco meal order it was literally a spoon full of rice and spoon full of beans. Super small portions. The chille relleno tacos were not a full pepper. It’s like they cut it into a fourth. Very skimpy. I called the restaurant and asked if they typically include salsas in their deliveries and the man who answered the phone was super rude. He really didn’t care that salsa wasn’t included in the order. Who eats tacos without salsa? Seems like this place is just trying to save money and increase their profits.
