iโve gone to the mcdonaldโs a few times out of convenience since itโs close to home and freeway. but every time I go thereโs a problem, today was the last. My order is always simple for morning breakfast but somehow they get it wrong but I accept it as whatever itโs fast food I prob shouldnโt be ordering it anyway. This morning after sitting in a long drive thru, I got to the window to pay. they were I guess swapping out the register. I waited a while, the cashier never acknowledged me being there even after me waving my phone to get her attention. so I assumed maybe I need to pay at the next window since at this point thereโs a 2 car space ahead of me. I get to the window and let the associate know I didnโt pay yet, she didnโt hear me but comes back to the window and says to me โyou skipped paymentโ I told her I assumed I needed to pay at the next window since she didnโt open the first one. I tell her I have apple pay, hereโs my phone you can tap to pay it with her. and iโm told noโฆi have to drive all the way around and get back in line โฆ. what? i basically picked up on the vibe that they assumed i was trying to scam them out of paying. so now yall are an inconvenience and rude as hell. i cancelled the order and decided i just wont come back. The cashier was rude about it and told the food handler she wasnt willing to take my payment from the other window. The workers often blame it on their system not working properly after they ask me to drive up to the pay window. Then the worker suggest an alternative solution that I could just pay for the item instead. Lol. Whatโs the point in having this app and redeeming items if this occurs frequently?
Another thing that happens quite frequently is that I either donโt get all my food AND/OR get someone elseโs order. I mean I get I could look into the bag to see if everything is there prior to driving off, but there are times when Iโm in a rush and blindly trusted that the food I ordered would be in the bagโฆ only to be disappointed when I end up with Apple Pies and Chicken McNuggets with no sauce instead of the Quarter Pounder meal I ordered. Nothing wrong with nuggets and the pie, but would like to get exactly what I ordered. There was a time when I ordered just fries for my kid and I end up getting a Filet-O-Fish. I didnโt notice this until I was traveling on the freeway. The sandwich was good, but my kid didnโt get his fries. I went to another McDonald's 15 minutes before and received a Diet Coke instead of the regular Coke I ordered. No big deal, I thoughtโI'll just pop into the McDonald's at 8361 Sheldon Rd. and have them correct the mistake. How hard could it be to swap a drink?
Apparently, impossible. When I politely explained the situation to the employee, she flat-out refused to swap the drink. I offered to show my receipt, proving that I had just ordered a Coke, but she didnโt care. Her excuse? "This is a different store, we can't do that."
Really? Itโs a fountain drink. The same machines, the same company, and yet, somehow, this simple request was beyond their capability. The refusal to help was not just ridiculous but also bafflingly dismissive. I wasn't asking for the world, just the correct drink. This encounter left a sour taste in my mouthโworse than any Diet Coke ever could.
