I had numerous issues tonight. We stayed at the Comfort Inn less than 1 mile away and got delivery.
#1 They got our order wrong twice in a row. I ordered a meatball sub with pepperoni and some veggies and they sent me a sub with only the pepperoni and veggies. I called and they were very friendly and very quickly offered to correct the issue and delivered a second sub. They told me it would be 5 to 10 minutes and then ended up being considerably longer. The second sub was missing pizza sauce which is kind of important on a meatball sub. Luckily I had some leftover marinara sauce from our appetizers so I used some of that. #2 We were not given any napkins or utensils which is kind of important staying at a motel compared to delivering to a house. My wife and my daughter ordered pasta and that is kind of important to eat with utensils. #3 The pepperoni pinwheels are a complete waste of money. There was bacon bit size pieces of pepperoni equivalent to maybe half of a single pepperoni on each pinwheel which was such a little amount that none of us could even taste the pepperoni and they ended up going in the garbage. #4 Our breadsticks were completely bland as well. We usually order Little Caesars and we all love Little Caesars breadsticks and they are usually gobbled up before the pizza. These breadsticks were bland and also ended up mostly going in the garbage. All we could taste was dough.
The food tasted good for our main entrees. I had a little bit of one of my daughter's pizza and that tasted amazing. My sub was also very good after I added pizza sauce to it. The pasta dishes were also said to be good. My other daughter had chicken wings and she said those were good.
We live here in Elkhart Indiana and we stay at this motel just so the kids can go to the pool and hot tub.
I'm not quite sure if we would order from this place again.
They were friendly and willing to correct the issues promptly that is the only reason I was willing to give three stars. They blamed the mistakes on training a newbie. Sounds like the manager needs to do his/her job and make sure things are going out of...
Read moreNot sure about atmosphere as I have only ordered take out or delivery. Everything I have ordered has been delicious. I have had a pizza, was absolutely delish. Have had the cheese bread, was cheese bread...was good.. Had the Italian sub, it was HUGE!!!! I have had the italian beef sub, this absolutely was a disappointment. The meat was chewy, like it was nuked and had that " left over flavor, like it was nuked. The meat had a lot of gristle. Was really unpleasant. I only had a couple of bites, trashed the rest. I do love that they deliver and are really quick ! I love that they are on the Toast app and the menu prices arent jacked up like doordash. I love that Halls has a txt program to let me know about deals. If you haven't tried Halls, try the pasta, pizza, or apps, first. If try the beef sandwiches, you might not return. Update 09.02.23. Ordered from here again. I ordered a med pizza with red onions and Italian sausage, breadsticks and boneless chicken with bbq sauce. The breadsticks were the highlight. They are buttery, full of flavor and SOFT! The pizza wasgood, I haven't gotten a bad pizza from Halls, but the boneless bbq chicken wings were really just breaded chicken pieces covered in bbg sauce. No complaints, it was all pretty good, but WOW! those breadsticks...
Read moreI’ve only tried the Chicken Alfredo & it’s very good. So I have no problem with the food. However it’s the prep of the food that’s not good. The people making the food does not wear gloves which might not be a problem if they keep their hands clean & not tough knobs & buttons but we all know that’s not happening. On top of that the last time I was going to order the same lady who was the cashier was also making dishes with her hands. As she walked up to take my order, she wiped some flour on her shirt & prepared to touch the screen of the register that probably never been cleaned & sanitized. Yeah that was the straw & I walked out. Why is it virtually every other restaurant can use gloves & Hall’s can’t? It’s a sanitary thing. I don’t know where their hands been so why would I want them touching my food? And if you are stressing wearing gloves & your workers aren’t, they either need to be retrained on food safety or fired. Needless to say I won’t go back unless they literally & figuratively clean up their act. I don’t know where you’re from but gloveless hands, dirty work or prep areas & bugs are deal breakers to us New Yorkers....
