I always heard good things about this place but we went here last night and what a dump! Will never go back. Usually a good drink can help you wash down the bad food, or over look the waitress with the crappy attitude, but unfortunately we couldn't even get a good drink. I ordered an old fashioned and prior to ordering I clearly asked the waitress if they make good ones and told her to use Maker's. Her reply was "Of course", should have been "Of course not". Who in the heck uses lemon? It's suppose to be orange, and where do you get a cherry so black that my husband and I thought they put a black olive in it and we used the fork to get it out. It was absolutely repulsive. We told her it was bad. Did she try to make it right? Absolutely not. She had no care, so we paid for a drink we did not drink. Our friend had a Manhatten. He drank it, but it wasn't the best. Non of steaks were cooked as ordered, the 2 of us women sent ours back. When you order medium well that doesn't mean cold and completely raw bloody inside. The 2 men ate it, but wasn't pleased, my husband said he ordered medium and it was clearly rare, only charred on the outside slightly cold, bloody and raw. The 2 men got Cole slaw and both stated it wasn't any good, I took 1 small bite of my husband and it tasted like taking a drink of apple cider vinegar right out of the bottle. The wild rice tasted old, Luke warm at best. The salads were cheap and not good. The dressings were cheap and the French didn't even look right let alone taste right. The only decent thing to eat was the garlic bread, but once I sent my steak back it didn't come back with any garlic bread, so my husband let me have a bite of his. So $199.94 for our bill, not including the $40 tip, we left there hungry because we didn't have a good meal, good drinks or good wait staff. The people that go there all looked a little rough around the edges and the place really looks like it needs a good cleaning. Definitely would never reccomend or...
Read moreToday was the worst experience I have ever had at Heinnes. We made reservations for 615 and didn't get seated until almost 7. We sat there for 15 min before we were offered anything to drink. We sat there again for at least 20 min before our order was taken and then another 35 minutes before we were served. This was a Thursday night, not a weekend, which I would have understood the lousy service. So the food..I ordered the special of the day which was a steak wrap. I was told after 10 min they were out of the wrap and was recommended a steak sandwich that they would make into a wrap for me. Yes, after I got the bill they charged me for the steak sandwich which was 14.99 compared to the 9.99 special. Had I known they would do that I wouldnt have accepted their suggestion. I was told they would slice the steak thinly and place it in the wrap and I got a strip of steak with onions and cheese rolled in a tortilla. Then...my husband's burgers was so pitiful, a McDonald's quarter pounder with cheese looked more appealing and was bigger in size than this tiny almost slider size sandwich. The bun was sliding off the burger, and it was so small it was consumed within like 5 bites. Everyone else's food at the table was pretty good but between the lousy service, pitiful burger-- which at one time the burgers at Heinnies were top-notch, and the price gouge for the item that was replaced with what they offered me- I can't ever see myself returning there again. I have eaten at Heinnies for many years, and I haven't seen this poor of service, quality of food or price this bad ever. Until now. It was my husband's first experience there, and he was so disappointed. We won't return again. I'm not sure qhat happened to the old Heinnes, but this place...
Read moreHeinies? Who the heck writes these reviews? Who named this place? OK let's look at this restaurant / bar. It is local and ethnic to its origin. It is not a gourmet restaurant and the owner & waitresses are part of there community! Are they rude? NO! They are just Yankees and you are visiting their neighborhood ! Being a Southerner we would just tell you if you don't like it then get the hell out! Another way to look at it is that something is definitely wrong with you if you go visit hell and complain about the HEAT! OK I read all of the reviews before mine. It is one of the best neighborhood bars in this whole USA and should be made an example of what neighborhood bars would use as a model. The ambiance is great and reflected the character of the working class America. They were friendly, cheerful, and took a good ribbing. Now it it up to you it to figure out which one is the cross dresser. The Bean Soup was awesome as described in the previous write up. I chose the Orange Roughy. It was very good with a good blend of seasoning accompanied with a wide selection of sides. The potatoe was well cooked and was not oversized like the restaurants that temp you with the bizarre and unique. It is a good down to earth place to sit down and eat relax and sit at the bar , converse with the local neighborhood . You feel very welcome there but don't expect to be swapping hugs before you leave. I give it a "Big 5 !" of the local Neighborhood Pub/ Restaurant category. To add while walking back to my place in the late afternoon in the semi business/ industrial neighborhood of America there was quiet. Peace, the birds were singing and God was...
