Speedy Chef — Restaurant in Elkin

This place is not consistent with its quality of food at all. I don’t like to leave bad reviews but this was the last straw. Yall know what you did. I ordered buffalo chips and they gave me rock hard chips with buffalo sauce drizzled on top. I also asked for a Hot Fudge Shake, three times. First they tried to give me a hot fudge cake. I repeated in the restaurant “hot fudge shake”. Then she proceeded to tell the kitchen to make me a “hot fudge sundae”. I said no a “hot fudge shake”. She said oh, apologized and gave me , what I thought was the requested “hot fudge shake” that I asked for three times. You could imagine my surprise and disappointment, when I arrived home with a freaking hot fudge sundae. I’m not saying don’t go there and eat. Just be sure to ask questions about the food quality before you order so you know what you’re paying for and what you’re getting. Maybe have them repeat the order for assurance...

Had to wait on my food while the rest of my party had there's, but that's bc i caught em just as they had changed the oil in the fryer, so i get that. I was disappointed in the plate i got tho. I only got like a maybe a third of a cup of shrimp, which isn't very many, so the plate was more or less fries with a few shrimp mixed in. I remember Speedy Chef having large portions even on the small plates and they weren't as high as now and getting way less food. I get that costs are rising but what i got was a huge disappointment. Even the chicken tender plate we ordered was lacking. The tenders looked as if they were the frozen kind and not breaded. I was really just completely shocked at the price tag of over $60 for basically maybe $30 worth of food and that's being generous. Place was clean, staff was super friendly. Only thing wrong...

I was very disappointed with my experience this evening. My husband and I drove nearly 40 minutes to enjoy what is typically great food, but unfortunately, tonight was quite the opposite. I noticed my Philly steak sitting on the counter for almost ten minutes before it was served, and the chips were not up to their usual quality.

Additionally, the service, which is usually excellent, was noticeably lacking. When I asked questions, the staff seemed indifferent and unresponsive. I also noticed many new faces, and while I understand that employees need time to learn, serving fresh, quality food should not be a difficult task.

Spending over $38 on a meal that did not meet expectations was disappointing. Given this experience, it will be a very long time before we consider returning—if...
