First off, I wish I could leave zero stars. From the moment we walked in it was clear we were not wanted there. This was obviously our first time, both the waitress and waiter both saw us and didn’t bother to say anything to us. After standing for a couple seconds we asked the waiter if we can just sit anywhere, he just nodded, not saying anything or handing us menus. He stood around casually talking to someone for 5-10 minutes before even bringing us our menus. Anything he brought to the table he rudely just threw down in front of us, half mumbled his responses, and over the course of an hour checked on us once. When we finally went up to ask what was taking so long he stumbled, couldn’t even look at us, and went to check. He didn’t apologize about the wait or ask if he could get us anything, and then blamed it on another families order being too large. The family was THREE people. And yes while this is a small diner, it does not take over 50 mins to only bring out one small families food and no one else’s. When we’d had enough of the staffs rude behavior, we went up to tell them we would only be paying for the drinks. Waiter said okay and immediately ran into the back to tell the chef or whoever, instead of trying to rectify the situation or apologize. The other waitress just watched and didn’t do anything. Don’t go here unless you’re a local who’s very close friends to the staff because they’ll treat you like a nuisance and make it very clear you’re not welcome. Worst service I’ve ever...
Read moreI was happy with my experience here. Came in for a late breakfast after having a bit to much to drink last night. The prices are fair and the food is good. I had French toast and 3 cups of coffee for under 6 dollars. The French toast was delicious and more than I could eat. They definitely cater to their core customers which are the elderly locals who frequent this place. A heavily tattooed guy as myself got a few looks when I walked in but everyone was polite. There are bible verses all over the place which is annoying but not enough to turn me off. It took a few minutes more than expected to get my food but the waitress kept apologizing and refilling my coffee. The French toast was good and more than I could finish. I will probably frequent this place now that I have moved here permanently. Seems like a good place to grab a cheap but tasty meal after a long night hauling Feed through...
Read moreWhenever my husband and I have a choice we patronize locally owned businesses. We love "mom and pop" restaurants as we used to own one. The iced tea was good. However I was really disappointed in the food. First clue was nobody in parking lot at 1 p.m. The second clue was the waitress could recommend only a few items on their menu. One recommended item was the Reuben. I've never had one made with shaved corned beef. Hopefully I never will again. The consistency was ground mush with very little Sauerkraut or thousand island dressing. Although it was grilled just right. The rye bread was was nice and crispy. The Swiss cheese melted and the corned beef hot. My husband ordered the Swiss Mushroom burger. It was overcooked resulting in a dry chewy texture. Despite all that the Onion rings were excellent! We will go back at some point. I like to give a business several chances before I...
