El Paso Mexican Grille is the best restaurant that I have ever been to for a multitude of reasons.
The Service is most excellent! The expert staff that works there has been there forever and knows the menu both inside and out. The are all kind, respectful, and are ever diligent in bringing out large quantities of freshly cooked chips.
The Restaurant provides both indoor and out door seating. When the weather is nice it is relaxing to be able to sit outside under an umbrella and enjoy the best quality food in town.
The Pricing is competitive with all of the big Mexican restaurant chains out there; however, because of the quality of the food you are getting a far better deal at El Paso.
The Food is the most important aspect of a restaurant and El Paso has the best! I have personally ate at El Paso over two hundred times and I have tried almost everything on the menu. My favorite meal there is the Coctel de Camaron (shrimp cocktail). I have tried this same cocktail at twenty or more different restaurants and none of them can even come close to the perfection that El Paso has created! El Paso's shrimp cocktail comes with seven huge shrimp that are so fresh that they crunch when you bite into them. The cocktail is chilled, unlike most restaurants that serve it slightly warm like a soup. It also has a unbelievable balance of flavor that keeps you coming back for more.
My second favorite meal at El Paso the special the have on Wednesday. The Chicken Chipotle Burrito is unlike any burrito you have ever had, and you can get it any day of the week if you choose too. When this burrito is complimented with their Cholula hot sauce it is simply out of this world good! Try It!
The Complimentary chips that are served at El Paso are better than top shelf quality because they are made fresh and served warm. The chips are also served with both salsa and a white cheese sauce, but for the bold nacho dipper they have their own tomatillo sauce available upon request.
El Paso Mexican Grille is open every day of the week except Monday. Will I be returning to El Paso any time soon? You had better believe it! I will certainly be having El Paso for Lunch today!

Read moreUpdate - Returned to El Paso Mexican Grille on 05 Oct, 2022 and have deducted a star from my original review one (1) year ago after finding they've changed something about the way they are now preparing the Chile Rellenos and our server being on the edge of subpar. Although this visit was disappointing when compared to my first a year ago, the majority of the food I had this evening would cause me to return again.
Tip - Read the section on the menu describing individual menu items unless you're absolutely sure of what you're ordering.
When I first saw El Paso Mexican Grille's rating score I thought to myself there had to be something amiss there, but then curiosity got the best of me and I just had to see this place for myself ... AND I'm sooooo glad I did! If you haven't eaten there yet, do yourself a huge favor and give them a try for yourself. You'll thank me later.
When we arrived, Wed, 06 Oct, 2021, El Paso Mexican Grille wasn't busy and we were promptly seated. Now if you've been to several different mexican restaurants over the past couple years you'll notice a trend that it appears they are all using the same type of menu, and El Paso appears to be following that trend, but don't let that alarm you because what matters is what El Paso is doing in the kitchen, not what the menu looks like.
Our server, Nexa, was very knowledgeable about the menu items and very professional. The Chile Rellenos were exceptionally good and probably among the top five (5) that I've tasted to date (and I try them at every mexican restaurant that has them on the menu that I go to). The red sauce that they pour over the burritos is simply devine. Their refried beans are average, what you'd expect to be served, and their spanish rice was a bit dried out and needed more flavor to it. But overall, it was a delight to stumble upon this restaurant and it has been added to our list of places that we must revisit when dining...
Read moreEl Paso Mexican Grille used to be my absolute favorite restaurant, but after my visit last Thursday (10/03/2024), I won’t be returning anytime soon. I went with my daughter and husband for what I hoped would be a nice dinner, but the entire experience left a lot to be desired.
To start with, the white sauce, which I used to love, was absolutely horrible. It was so watered down that it wouldn’t stick to the chips and tasted like nothing more than dirty water, and it had lumps in it. I suspect they thinned it out to save costs, but it was a big letdown. I was hoping to get a bottle of their chipotle hot sauce—the one with the dark brown lid—but the waitress was so inattentive that I eventually had to send my husband to the storage area to grab it for me.
When our meals arrived, my husband’s order was wrong—he asked for two beef burritos and received one beef and one chicken. After finally getting the waitress's attention, she took the plate back, but we waited forever for the correct burrito. We eventually gave up and asked for it to-go, but even then, it never came. When I asked to speak to the manager, he was dismissive and made me feel like I was at fault for not just accepting the mistake. His response was as disappointing as the service.
To top it all off, my son, who was at home, asked for steak tacos with no lettuce or tomato. I made sure to tell the waitress clearly, had her repeat it, and even repeated it again myself, yet they still messed it up. When I called to let them know, the manager offered no real solution other than to drive back to the restaurant, which was completely inconvenient at that point.
Overall, this visit was a huge disappointment. The service, the food quality, and even the attitude of the manager was all subpar. It’s sad to say, but El Paso is no longer my go-to. I’ll be heading to El Charro in Harrisonburg from now on—their white sauce is thick, creamy, and exactly...
