If a hearty, homestyle breakfast is what you seek, Village Inn Restaurant in Bloomington is a destination that should be at the top of your list. This charming eatery has become a staple for locals and visitors alike, serving up breakfast delights seven days a week until 2 pm, making it a perfect spot for both early birds and brunch enthusiasts.
One cannot mention Village Inn without raving about their pancakes. These are no ordinary pancakes; they're colossal, encompassing the size of dinner plates, and cooked to a perfect golden brown. Accompanying these fluffy marvels are the hashbrowns, which achieve that rare balance of being satisfyingly crunchy on the outside while remaining soft and steamy within. For egg aficionados, the eggs over easy are a testament to the kitchen's attention to detail, cooked just enough so that the yolks are still runny, making for an impeccable dip for your toast. Further enriching the breakfast tableau is the delicious corned beef hash, a nostalgic dish that's becoming increasingly rare to find. Village Inn's version is perfectly seasoned and cooked, offering a hearty complement to any breakfast plate. One cannot forget to mention the biscuits and gravy. They taste like they were made from scratch, just like grandma used to make. Soft biscuits absolutely smothered in rich, creamy sausage gravy.
When it comes to beverages, Village Inn ensures that all tastes are catered to. Whether you prefer ice-cold orange juice to refresh your palate or a piping hot cup of coffee to warm your soul, Village Inn has you covered. Not to be overlooked, the restaurant also offers a selection of cold Coca-Cola products for those who crave the familiar, refreshing fizz as their breakfast accompaniment.
The culinary delights continue with the sausage gravy over soft, fresh biscuits, another standout, exuding the comfort of a home-cooked meal, reminiscent of the kind grandma used to make.
What truly sets Village Inn apart, though, is the warm and convivial service. The staff there is not just happy and helpful but exudes a genuine friendliness that makes you feel like part of the Village Inn family. They are attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that your coffee cup never hits empty and that your table remains uncluttered throughout your meal.
In conclusion, Village Inn Restaurant in Bloomington offers a breakfast experience that is both delicious and heartwarming. It's a place where the food is consistently excellent, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is welcoming. For anyone in search of that quintessential breakfast spot that feels like a home away from home, Village Inn is the place to be. It's a local treasure that serves up not just meals, but memories to savor long after the last crumb has...
Read moreIf you are looking for a great midwest cafe experience in and around elletsville this is it.
There were a good amount of locals and regulars when I arrived, all with big smiles and in good spirits, a good sign right off the bat.
I started off with a side salad with ranch. The ranch is made in house, another big checkmark on things I have come to find are a great indicator of exceptional eateries.
For the main course I ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy which came with a choice of potatoes, 2 eggs, and choice of bread. I chose the hashbrowns, medium eggs and a pancake for my bread.
I asked them to add another half order of biscuits and gravy to the order.
When the food arrived it was clear adding the extra half order of biscuits and gravy was not needed as the portions were huge.
The hashbrowns were crispy, the eggs cooked just right, and the gravy for the biscuits meaty and seasoned well.
The servers were top notch and run a well oiled machine. The food came out fast and fresh.
I would definitely recommend stopping by here for a meal anytime you are hankering for a true cafe experience.

Read moreThe google reviews lie when they say âitâs quick and kid friendlyâ.. I had the WORST experience here on Sunday. My 3 year old got up from his seat to come give me a hug and when he went to go back around the table to his seat by his Mimi this lady came up to him and asked him why he was out of his seat, told him to sit down then had the audacity to tell him âyouâre mom should be telling you to sit downâ.. excuse me? But it didnât stop there.. my 1 year old started crying when I took her syrup away (because she was making a mess) and the same lady actually came out of the kitchen and told her âyou need to be quietâ. Now, this lady was NOT our waitress and as I sat there I gathered that she had a nasty attitude towards all the waitress staff as well. I made a post on Facebook when I got home and the OWNER actually got on there and told me it was his WIFE treating my children and their staff this way, then went on to say it was an untrue post. He has since fallen silent when met with plenty of people who disagree with the way they handle their business. Iâll will never...
